The contrast is even bigger between the 2011 remake and its 2013 "part 2". The 2011 movie with Anton Yelchin, David Tennant and Colin Farrell is OK, though not as good as the 1985 original. Then in 2013 a Venezuelan director shot a sequel in Romania with nobodies as actors. It's really shitty.

Reminds me of Evil Dead, where Sam Raimi wanted to name his movie Book of the Dead, but a higher-ranking Jew told him the title needed to have more punch and suggested The Evil Dead, which he had to accept to go forward with the movie, and of course that ended up being one of the most recognized horror titles ever

I just didn't feel entertained. If I were 14 the gore might have been enough, but I have grown up. The story is just "there's an evil book, it says not to read it out loud, a jerk reads it out loud, and then they start killing eachother". It would have been enough for a 20 minute segment in an anthology movie. Technically it was OK.
Same with the 2013 version. Higher production value, but same story. The only thing different was that the reason why they all went out in the woods was for a withdrawal cure of their junkie friend.

I think you just have an extremely different mind to me. What I remember about 2013 was raining tens of thousands of gallons of blood, chainsawing through corpses etc. The story is just a scaffold for what I consider the important stuff. Not saying there aren't films I like for their great stories, but to me it's more what you do with a premise.

The camerawork alone is incredible. It has one of the best aesthetics in all of horror. The acting is bad, campy, sure, but the execution of the premise, even if it's a simple premise, is fantastic.
To me, it's very comparable to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Something that should be a simple genre film, but executed so perfectly, and shot with a lot of creativity and a surprising artfulness that sets it apart. What do you think of TCM?

This is apparently a supernatural movie about being in a submarine. That got me thinking about what a cool idea that sounds like, and I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are any more like it. A submarine slasher movie, or some kind of sea monster or creatures tormenting thr crew, whatever. Just the setting of a claustrophobic submarine seems really perfect for a horror film.

Alien is a very good example. Take a simple story, a simple idea--even take a movie that already exists, It! The Terror from Beyond Space, and give it a great execution with a memorable and original aesthetic, and you have a definitive horror classic. It's not about how amazing the story and idea behind it is, it's how you execute it.

I liked it. The animation was the same as Wicked City which was made a year before it (and really good), but I think Demon City was superior in a bunch of ways. It's just a lot more straight forward and had a simple "oh cool that makes sense" ending.

Like lots of kids laughing. I struggled super hard and got my hand to shoot up and it felt like I touched something soft. But when I got my eyes open there was no one there. I checked my room snd windows. I sat around until morning trying to figure it out to creeped out to sleep. It was before internet so I had no idea what the fuck had happened.

I've seen the hat man a couple of times. Mostly my sleep paralysis came with OBEs and a panicked perception that I had been gassed. Like I'd wake from a nightmare, unable to move, and suddenly convinced that somebody had poured some kind of poisonous gas into my room, and that I was dying.
Then in my late 20s, the OBEs came in the form of getting out of bed and starting my morning routine, then encountering some kind of wild predatory animal, usually a big cat, then I'd lose my equilibrium and it would attack me, only to find myself back in bed to repeat the process 2 or 3 times.
It was distressing at the time, but looking back as a horror fan, it was kind of kino. I'd be lying too if I didn't say I derived some kind of perverse masochistic pleasure from it at the time. Haven't had sleep paralysis in several years.

It isnt like that. Blue collar work isnt the same as hitting the gym.
You do blue collar work one day, lets say 5 hours only (lol), the damage from that is a lot. Then you do it again tomorrow without recovering from the day before. And you do it again the day after.
It is terrible.

Blue collar work and movements are braced and controlled lifting. You βjust do itβat blue collar work and that is terrible on the spine and nervous system.
And this damage I feel is only from 10 mins of raking. 10 minutes of raking for 7 days a week will wear your body out.

It's a common misconception that overtraining can make a person weak. It's true that it can kill gains in terms of progression, and of course rest is critical for growth, but daily sustained strength exertion absolutely will condition a body. That's all training is: conditioning.
Bodybuilding and powerlifting etc done properly will make a person's muscles bigger, but getting out there every day for manual labor will build muscle density. Committed landscapers and old school farmers may not be bulky, but they have muscles like steel wire.
Then of course living that way will tear up your knees, your back, your labrums in your hips and shoulders, and then you're fucked. But the density of muscle and bone cultivated from that conditioning will remain for some time, even indefinitely if you did it for long enough.
Hydration, nutrition, and rest are critical for health, but a body will adapt to anything you subject it to over and over again.

Its like kicking a tree for years and your shins get stronger.
Thing is, blue collar work is literally a full body workout and doing it daily is bad.

There was a 50s scifi flick called The Psychotronic Man, and there was a guy named Mike Weldon who liked weird movies and started a zine called Psychotronic because he thought the word sounded cool. He would review the kinds of movies he liked, and eventually started putting books out, which became relatively popular. So some people started using the term Psychotronic to describe the kinds of movies he reviewed. It's really just another name for Cult or B-movies, and it's kind of obsolete because he doesn't do the zine anymore.

Oh shit there are actually 4 endings total I guess
There are three other known alternate endings.
In the first, Matias goes to meet Amaya at the park, where a Charon knocks him out with a shovel and buries him alive. When he video calls Amaya, the Charons hack his phone and distort his mouth so she can't read his lips. When he texts her, they change all his messages to βI wish I could sign betterβ. Amaya is left confused, and unaware of Matias suffocating directly beneath her underground.
In the second, Matias is lured into the warehouse and finds Amaya's bag, realizing the Circle has kidnapped her. They leave him with a gun and watch as he cries, betting on whether he will kill himself. The movie ends without showing what happens.
In the third, Matias meets Amaya, but Charons grab them both. The group votes on whether to let them live. One of the Charons replays a video titled βThey_Earned_It.m4vβ of Matiasβs move when he extorted Charon IV with his own bitcoin and saying theyβll get the money back only if they return Erica Dunne home safely. The River voters vote to spare them out of respect and film as they embrace. Meanwhile, Erica crawls out of Matias' closet, approaching the laptop and crying for help. She discovers a hole in her skull and screams in horror, the sound of her scream being sustained as a Charon ends the game.
Pretty sure I saw the first one
Imagine these identical twins with the same DNA.

Absolute sexo, whoever threw in the vague lesbian stuff with all her characters knew how to make a film.

They're all quite similar to The Grudge, I enjoyed them.
Most important note is that the curse 2 is actually half a recap. As in, the first half of the film is just scenes from the first film, so you can skip ahead to where it looks new. I guess it was a tv movie and they thought they could get away with it.

That scene where they get hung from the ceiling is for sure.
Also White Ghost is underrated. It has a lame digital look to it, but has one of the top five "SON of a BITCH" jumpscares that I didn't see coming and rekt me.

All the ju on franchise is creepy lets be real, and white ghost is very underrated, it would be better known if it was 90 minutes and not sold as a ju on sequel I think.
Btw I never got the real timeline of ju one the curse 2, the one with the actress, I never understood it

I can't remember much about it now, but I do know that I've started writing down character names in foreign films now and who they are as I watch it just on my second monitor. And I feel it makes a big difference, like there's some lizard brain connection between names and emotional impact while reading that I don't fully get from just casually reading subtitles. Japanese names all blend together in my mind and I forget the Izumis from the Kayamas or whatever.
