Nothing is as visually pleasing as a movie made on film and projected onto a big screen. Literally any movie pre 2007 looks good compared to today’s slop.

Isn't it possible to create a digital medium that mimics film?
Can't they create a camera that makes digital frames similar to film frames?

OLED is the closest thing because it’s the only digital display that can accurately project the color black and thus recreate shadows.

>Isn't it possible to create a digital medium that mimics film?
It's called a digital grain filter but you need a very good colorist and having a digital stock for different light conditions.
Only retarded people like >>213820375, which are plenty, think digital cannot emulate the film look, it's just that Hollywood skims past the editing phase. Also some directors like to suck cock and go easy mode with money so they film the digital footage being projected with a film camera to get the "film" grain but that isn't "the look", that is the style of lightning used by old style cinematographers.

'The Samurai Trilogy' directed by Hiroshi Inagaki.

Money/L'Argent - or anything else by Bresson
The Leopard/Il Gattopardo - Visconti
Blade Runner - ?
Dreams - that Japanese guy

I don't know what Bresson was doing. Somehow "simple" and "austere" produce different results. Visconti combined basic, deliberate direction with gorgeous sets, costumes, and people. Blade Runner has a handful of key, striking shots, I bet we're imagining the same ones. Dreams is dumb and dull, but every visual element serves the atmosphere.
