I'll absoluitely agree that 4 is the worse RPG (which isn't saying much because 3 is like you said, abysmal) but it's far more engaging as an actual game imo. Quite fun survival and the basebuilding is a great way to waste 500 hours. Just a shame that the worldbuilding, storyline, art design and roleplaying suck.

It probably exceeded everyone's expectations since a Fallout TV show sounds dumb as hell.

I'll agree that the gameplay loop in Fallout 4 is better than in Fallout 3, but if I want to play a colony/settlement sim or survival game I'm going to play one of the hundreds of better options than Fallout 4 anyway - Fallout lives and dies by its storytelling and Fallout 4 was way worse than Fallout 3 in that regard

I love fallout 1 which is the older game, and i wish tactics just played like that. No instead its like a real time clobbering sim of too kuch shit happening but not enough at the same time. No idea why the designed it that way, and the turn based mode is too slow with how many party members+size of maps
Both of these games also suck the ever living cock out of bos which was only a decent faction in fallout 1 and nv lol. From prideful shutins trying to mind their business taking that to the extreme of nearly going extinct now the rest of the wasteland caught up and they are now seen as weirdos stuck in a buncker. I still like fallout 2 but going from 1 to 2 is a disappointment. On one hand i can’t be too mad, the team literally had to rush it out of the door in one year and i get that but you go from so many new ideas, now pop culture juggernaut imagery like the pipboy bos super mutants deathclaws, special system, vaults, the perk art, vault boy who fucking elderly people on telegram use as emoticons hes so famous completely unique ost literally everything became iconic in fallout 1 to some degree, to just more of it but now extended to be 3 times longer with the only truly unique spin being all of the tribal stuff being injected into the setting. I liked Far Harbor a lot when I played it on survival difficulty but the Dima confesses ending of the main questline kind of ruined my immersion. The main story made such a big deal out of people being secretly replaced by synths and the paranoia commonwealth wastelanders had only for the people of Far Harbor to not even try to find out which one of them was murdered replaced by Dima unless you directly tell them it was Captain Avery. It felt kind of cheap that people who seconds ago were willing to kill every last synth on the island to make them all pay for Dima’s crimes just accept that one of their loved ones could be a synth replacement.
