The previous London Prize Ring Rules outlawed butting, gouging, scratching, kicking, hitting a man while down, holding the ropes, and using resin, stones or hard objects in the hands, and biting, but also allowed throwing your opponent, and spiked shoes.
The fight Sherlock is in obviously doesnβt care about the standardized rules, whether the older London, or newer Queensberry rules.
