This movie sucked so bad and i'm fucking seething over it. What in the goddamn fuck happened?

They don't even nail the movie fundamentals. Editing, photography, audio, lighting, is fucking dogshit. The movie feels inconsistent as fuck.

It is covered with the stench of woke, with strong girlbosses crammed into every nook and cranny they can find.

So many fucking flashbacks. They make all these new connections between movies for no fucking reason.

WTF. This franchise has been so good for 20 years. Dead reckoning is fucking awesome. this movie is a piece of shit.

They kill off Luther, and they finish the movie without the team even acknowledging it.


Ethan's dead first wife story has no conclusion and isn't even mentioned.

It was a bit of a letdown. Being a two-parter was a massive mistake. An AI villain movie and then a Series Finale movie would have been better. Also yeah the casting of all the bit parts in both parts was really weird.

haven't seen it yet but I knew it would be damn near impossible to top Fallout.

I hoped they'd learn from the previous one but it's even worse. Combined total of 5 hours of exposition and flashbacks and repeating the stakes over and over.
The only great moment was the final plane scene.

Think they should have stopped after MI4. I remember nothing from then on. Except the one after had Jeremy Renner..and then Cavill? It's all so forgettable. Even MI4 wasn't a masterpiece per se but up till then the series was all stylistically different and interesting.

Kind of your fault expecting anything after seeing how shit the first half was. It's sad the franchise went out on a wet fart but that's just usually how it goes. Endings are extremely difficult to pull off and almost nothing they did could have been satisfying. Sure they didn't try hard enough but we still have all the good memories and cruise will go down as the greatest A list stunt actor. Hopefully he can finally put the franchise to rest and can move on to doing more nuanced roles.

SERIOUSLY WAS GRACE A GIRLBOSS IN THIS? SHE WAS NOT IN DEAD RECKONING. She couldn't drive worth shit, she could fight but not half as well as Ilsa and she was never misandristic.

This franchise has been uniquely great with female characters.
Ilsa was the antithesis of a girlboss. Easily the best live action heroine since 2010.
Carter was also firmly good.

I swear I'm not one that complains about diversity and woke and all that crap, but damn it they went full force here.

Weird.

It was awful. First, the entry of Captain Britain, and her plastic surgery face, she snatched their coms and guns, even Ethan didn't notice. Then the strong female black president who subverted expectations, by tricking his cabinet, again there was no reason to do this. It served no purpose. Ethan lands on aircraft carrier whose captain was a trans, something. They give him a locket. Then Ethan takes a helicopter piloted by 2 strong female pilots, who took risk by flying for 5 extra seconds. Then he finally made it to submarine, gave locket as proof whose in-charge was some black dude from SNL sketch. Ethan who have been fighting for 20 years was attacked, but was saved by strong Latina, who will also give her diving suit to him. All this bullshit and the ending adds to this, Grace captures the rogue AI, why ? Because she is a good pickpocket.

No wonder this is lowest rated MI movie in last decade.

Way to many flashbacks. You could cut like 30 minutes off the movie if you remove all of the flashbacks and Jim Phelps' son.
Another thing that disappointed me was that the final act of the film was too similar to the 6th film, with Ethan being separated from his team and they both have to turn a switch/cut a wire/press a button/etc at the exact same time at the exact last second. There it was a chase and a stunt with two helicopters, here it was two planes.

Why didn't they bring back Jeremy Renner? He was in the 4th and 5th films and was supposed to be in the 6th but had conflict due to being busy with Marvel stuff, but they brought back characters from the 1st film and couldn't bring him for the last?
Also his wife, did the actress refuse or did they not want her to be in the final film at all?

Same with the water turbine to sub scene. The turbine was way better. Sub had fucking nothing really. Helicopter scene kicked ass. At least there was a fun moment or two in the plane scene with the loop and cruise flipping around. But it didn't match helicopter scene and literal cliffhanger.

I am so done watching them disable nukes. All the fucking flashback scenes and then corollary scenes. We have watched benji disable like a bunch of bombs, but we still had to see luther disable the nuke in the first act so the finL act donnelly nuke disable had more tension.

The only great Mission Impossible movie is the first one. They are all varying levels of mediocre and or shit for the rest.

This movie stunk big time though. The plot makes zero sense and A.I. being the big bad is just lame. Even the plane stunt was terrible despite being impressive for being practical. The only part I give it credit for was the submarine scene. The rest was absolute dog feces.

I really enjoy the stunts in these movies but the dialog and overall plot are dogshit. I don't get how they just swap girls over from movie to movie and we are supposed to believe that Ethan cares about them at all. I hate the way the dialog switches to a different character in the scene for every single group of characters (except face-offs).
This series should just be Cruise running from stunt to stunt with all the emotional stuff loaded to the very front or back of the movie.

It is sad that the franchise is ending though, still no young actor to take up the action movie star reins or what is left of them at least.
