I'll be real with you man, you might just have to end up accepting that the 5 hour 360p dvd is as good as it's gonna get. No one is gonna spend the money to remaster it u less there's a sizeable demand to make it worth their while, and if the Thai themselves aren't campaigning for it to happen then I doubt many other people will. The filmmakers probably never intended for or even conceived of HD quality when making it, so as it is might be closer to their vision than anything a modern AI upscaled remaster would do

Just something to consider so you don't end up losing sleep over this
