I never said it wasn't, I said most anime from those times isn't much better, of course I'm not talking about high budget cinematic productions, I'm talking about made for tv weekly anime, it was crude as shit because of the insane turntables and dismal budgets, I would have expected an american outsourced filler episode for some random cartoon would have gotten the same treatment but honestly kudos to whoever drew that stuff, it looks great.

The reason why all these "western" animations are soulless is because they're entirely made in Korea being directed through a zoomcall. Nothing feels impactful, it's a western basedman telling koreans to animate a checklist of things.

Best example is the original TMNT cartoon.
The opening animation and the first 5 episodes were 100% Toei in japan. The detail and shading was vastly superior at this point than any later episodes.

To save money the TMNT cartoon was shopped around to other studios and other countries and it just turned to shit. The top 20 western cartoon animated sequences of the 1980s (especially openings) were almost entirely done by Toei.

Toei did the openinga to transformers, GI joe, the entire transformers movie, and about 50 other toy commercial pilot episodes. They were only rivaled by TMS (also japanese) who did stuff like the bionic six.

no, Studios in the 80's generally used a mix of American, and Japanese/korean teams.
America was the A List team, which was good but expensive, so they relied a lot on Japan (D List) and Korea (basically slave labor)
