He took down his terrifier review because the film has a gratuitous kill in which a nude woman was bisected by a chainsaw.

What causes this mindset? Is it because they view extreme violence as so foreign and beyond "reality" (due to sheltered upbringing) that it appears as pure fantasy, while "objectification of women" feels more like a real thing? Or have they fully committed to "fictional violence doesnt lead to real violence," but for some reason think that fictional sexual objectification or abuse inherently leads to real life objectification or abuse? Or is it them trying to pull the whole game od trying to take attention away from their own creepy selves, like those literal pedotroons who seethe about drawn porn of underage characters up until the day that they're inevitably arrested for either trying to solicit nudes from real children or for having TBs worth of real CP? Or is it just that they're totally pussywhipped whiteknights and don't dare do anything or like anything that they think might upset a woman?

I don’t even think more movies need these things but the fact that some moviemakers claim they’re trying to spook people to death and then do “Demon exorcism extravaganza #57” or “Deconstruction of family trauma: Alcoholic daddy edition” instead of going for one of the thousands of taboo things that will make people twitch in their seats just shows how much of them are hacks
Frankly it’s kind of entertaining in and of itself to watch horror movies trying to balance something unnerving with tippy-toeing around all of the horrible things that would really happen in most of the scenarios they are trying to depict

I watched some fucking god awful british social realist film the other day that features a long rape/torture/murder and it was extremely unpleasant and depressing. I watched some shitty Italian cannibal slop the week before and it also features even more disgusting and graphic rape and murder, but it's shot like a goofy, unreal adventure movie, so you never "buy in" to it being real.

My Aunt would literally get butthurr by swearing in movies, despite watching retarded 80's action movies. Her argument was the swearing was real, the violence was not.

Something Europeans don't consider is that Americans don't like to be forced into being the kind of person to NEED seeing naked people on screen. What we hate most of all is the imposition on our senses like perverts making us look at things we don't ask to look at.
