Just looking at her picture makes me feel something strange inside. I guess you could call it "love". I'm in love with Wendy. I've lost interest in all girls, besides her.

Like mentioned before, the setting seemingly now taking all of the season place at the island with newly invented company for the series, really means at the end of the day Weyland-Yutani probably just nukes the whole fucking island and thus the continuity is 'safe' and it's another side-prequel because also in the end no producer is willing to continue from where 4 wast left timeline wise forward.

It's been over 25 years and 4 is still the last end point in the continuity of showing off desolate earth fucked up by xenomorphs..

The problem with Wendy is that she is not a good actress in comparison to the heavyweights. Kirsh and Morrow stole the episode. She is not bad, but she is not exceptional either. Which would be fine if she was a side character, but having your main character be outshined regularly is a recipe for disaster. No one cares about her story, because she can't sell it as well as the two mentioned above.

Okay, I'm sorry, but this show is really starting to piss me off with how stupid some of the logic is.
Episode 3 had some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen.
Let's begin with, why did the xenomorph grab Joe and run away? First, he was right next to the eggs, arguably the place where the xenomorph would want him most of all. Taking him away decreased the chance of him getting impregnated via facehugger.
Second, why did it do this in the first place? Up to this point, we've seen the xeno do nothing but rip people to shreds, literally displaying a level of savagery that is frankly uncharacteristic for the xenos as we usually see them.
It's literally bum rushing huge groups of people and slaughtering them in seconds, and then it just decides to randomly take this one guy alive out of fucking nowhere.
"He took him for food!" It had food in the beef sides of the truck it took him too, and it's a xenomorph besides, they can eat just about anything, including rancid carrion, so it could have just killed him and ate his corpse later.
Then it gets stabbed by that blade of the paper trimmer, and somehow not only does none of the blood get on the girl's hand, but the blade is almost entirely unscathed.
Xeno blood is molecular acid that can eat through multiple floors of a spaceship in seconds. That blade should have been toast.
But no, it's still good to cut the xeno's head off and remain intact after the fight. It's like the creators never watched the old movies.
Same with the hook she gets the little mouth with. The hook should have been eaten through by acid in seconds, not hold out long enough for her to wrestle with the alien.
The plot armor in this is so thick that it could stop a nuclear bomb.

It's a major plot point in the comic, and the Black Goo infests fungus too, it's how a member gets infected in Prometheus. The goo doesn't always work properly though, it's definitely got a lot of variations in it and the Xenomorpths were just one of many. It seems like it attempts to create xenomorpths as an end goal or something similar, but could just as likely make giant worms or zombies, or even a Deacon, which is oddly pretty perfect looking. The Black Xenomorpth is a product of David tampering with shit too because he perfected what the engineers were trying to do.
