You weren't surprised Natalie played a foul-mouthed Ranger, anon? As opposed to, say, James Franco and Danny McBride being cast as stoner retards?

Chris Reeves' first role after Superman was the very low budget time travel fantasy Somewhere in Time. It turned into quite the cult movie over time but it was a huge surprise that this was his followup to his breakout role.

I think it was going to rape the scrawny servant guy but McBride stopped it. I really can't remember.

Nope you didn't imagine it; gay servant boy did indeed get taken by the Minotaur. Seriously, other than Natalie's scenes, I find the whole movie rather insufferable.

All I remember of this entire film is Natalie looking sexy and showing her ass.

This movie was straight up fucking ASS. Only joke that made me chuckle was when the villain guy said he knew he was gonna fuck the damsel in distress lady when he saw her as a newborn.

Yeah, for me it's just eye candy from nat and zooey (pic). It's fun to watch nat talk about her beaver burning for revenge but that stuff doesn't really stand up to repeated viewings. T&A, however, does.

I first saw it when it came out because my sister wanted to see it. I just went because it had Superman in it. I remember liking it (because it also had gorgeous Jane Seymour), but my appreciation for it as an adult is completely different. Really great romantic movie about love and loss, forget the time travel nonsense.

This was not just surprise casting (Saoirse in an action movie?), but the director surprised me too (Joe Wright, from Pride & Prejudice and Atonement fame). Actually it was Saoirse who recommended him. Still a surprise. Not usually the kind of film I like but the surprise pairing was kino.

In order for it to be surprise casting people actually would have to know who Saoirse Ronan was at the time, which they didn't.

Yes they did, from Atonement, for which she received an Oscar nomination, and The Lovely Bones.

Lots of people nobody has heard of get Oscar nominations, especially for supporting actor. And nobody saw The Lovely Bones, it was critically panned and flopped.

I was there as a fully grown adult, little nigga. She wasn't famous until the mid to late 2010s. Really, the average person who doesn't have child actor fap folders didn't know her until Ladybird.

No, some retard *thinks* that's where it originated, anon. Learn the difference. All this conjecture is from modernized scholars.

Scythian women were allowed to become warriors, this did not give them the ability draw back and accurately fire a bow capable of killing from a horse.

even this weirdo frumpty fat no muscle chick can draw a 60# bow. i've seen women draw up to 120#, though they had freakishly over developed muscles.

It's a recurve bow not a longbow, it could be as little as 30 lbs draw weight, which most women who haven't even trained would be able to shoot.

The only reason I saw Hanna was because Saoirse was in it. I've been a fan of hers since Atonement (same for James McAvoy, I was already a fan of Keira Knightley when Atonement was made).

Julie Andres in SOB, entirely because her character has a topless scene. Mary Poppins shows her boobs! Quite scandalous at the time. Also quite funny, though I appreciate it much more now than I did as a kid. Pic: Julie on the SOB with director/husband Blake Edwards (taken the day they shot the topless scene - that's the same red robe she's wearing).

Here's an oldie but it still surprises me that Stanwyck took the role, as she was at the height of her fame and was the highest paid actress in Hollywood. The movie's a hoot, unfortunately it's a B movie with a top of the A list lead and that shows whenever anyone other than Stanwyck is the center of attention.

Alan Rickman as Louis XIV. He directed too. Pretty good if you like the actors involved (which I do). Another Alan Rickman surprise casting that's more in hindsight: he played a gay artist in The January Man, which is not a very good movie despite having some nice nudity from Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.

True. I'd put Galaxy Quest itt also, he was a genius in the role but it was a surprise to see him in it. Actually, it's been a while since I've seen that one, going to have to rewatch it again soon.
