Because the reality is the Aldmeri control the weakened Empire, and whether or not they accept that, the reality is that letting Skyrim secede a) gives the Thalmor(and others) a public sentiment that the Empire is even weaker than it is and ending, and b) gives the Thalmor even more reason to take further control under the pretense that the Empire cannot even keep itself together. The best case scenario is to let whatever minute amount of Thalmor agents show up in Skyrim get themselves killed whilst suppressing it. All other avenues lead to the same outcome but less Aldmeri dead

Cringe, the whole point is to be morally gray with the factions, a purely good faction is fake and gay. Unless I am playing a game that is very black and white. A decent amount needed to be developed and built upon the Legion, though, for sure. This can be seen plainly by the amount of faction quests in comparison to others. A lot of Legion faction quests boil down to just killing everyone, which is gay and underdeveloped. The entire game needed more time in the oven, but what we got was still better than Fallout 3 (still good) and much better than 4 story wise.

Also, I do it as a woman in game because it is funnier. Be the change you want to bring to the Legion and enslave and conquer as le woman.

My biggest grip with the legion is that they don't make any fucking sense. They're just raiders with a coat of red paint and a shallow le Rome theme that doesn't go any deeper than the names and laughable costumes. You've got a bunch of comically evil dicks that don't even produce their own armor running around with scavenged machetes and football pads, and you're telling me they're the biggest existential threat to a semi industrialized society with machine guns, agriculture, and trains?

That might be acceptable, suspension of disbelief and all that, if they had anything interesting going on. There's no real depth to the legion, there are no "hooks" that make you want to participate in their campaign, it's just a bunch of fags in tents. The only elements they take from Roman culture are superficial: le tunics and le crucifixion and le slaves, which could easily be the practices of any other group of tribal retards. That's got to do with the fact that what you see in the game is their raiding party and camps trying to conquer a new territory. You never get to see the actual Legion's territory like you do with the NCR in the previous games. Also, the stuff about their troops is not true at all. The actual veterans of the Legions do use modern weapons and rifles.

From what I remember, in the game NCR is described as increasingly unstable and unable to protect its citizens outside of Shady Sands and the inequality is staggering with most of the brahmin barons hoarding all the wealth by the time of NV.
