It's a pretty decent blockbuster in an age of dogshit. Enjoyed it well enough when I saw it in the theater, and when I went to look at discussion about the film, it was all just retards saying how it wasn't good compared to the anime. What's nice is that the film keeps it simple, and sticks to a smaller scale. Where it ends is usually the halfway mark in most movies made nowadays, where you'd have to suffer through an escalation of meaningless CGI animated non-sense. GITS keeps it tight, and sticks to the landing. Nothing amazing, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better blockbuster from the 2010's (although there are some).
