Elves are spiritual creatures, so Sex is very draining to them. They only have sex for reproduction and only sex inside marriage. In fact they either die from trauma or voluntarily suicide themselves, if threatened with rape. I am not sure which one of these things is true, maybe they both are. This would also be a contradition with the "Orks are tortured, corrupted Elves" origin story of Orks, but Tolkien never ultimatively decided on their true origin.

Either way. Tolkien is boring. The mythology he has stolen from, is much more interesting and less sanitized by a purtian mindset.
