Tried to check it out recently but I dropped it on second episode, shit is scifi for children.
Seen some scenes decades ago and I had like a crush for that blue alien girl, but even back then I had better things to do than watch it.

The second episode "I, E.T" was so bland I had to drop it. Not putting up with generic storylines and bare minimum alien prosthetics just for Claudia Black

Man I love Farscape, good stand alone episodes, good long running plots, actual sexy women, and the lead sells his corny ass lines well. Sure it’s not for everyone but it’s probably peak SyFy era stuff along with the dune miniseries, they were really cranking out some good stuff at that time.

on second watching 20 years later, you realize how disgustingly slutty everyone is. Rygel was right, the pale bitch should have been shot out of an airlock the moment she started messing around. Although american space terrorist John Chriton is a pretty cool dude. The male characters really move the show forward. The women are useless whores half the time.

You guys have shit taste, farscape is scifi kino of the highest order. Tons of unique and creative ideas, even if the later seasons become shitty and melodramatic. If all you watched is the first couple episodes you missed out an all the best stuff, but you can safely stop watching at some point in season 3

Scorpius was only intended to come on for the last four episodes of the first season. Of course, when the powers that be saw how awesomely terrifying he was they decided to bring him on as the new main antagonist.

Both Chiana and Stark were intended as one-shot guest stars before being added to the core cast. Chiana was originally scripted to die from Durka's pulse weapon; instead, Zhaan patches the wound up at episode's end (which is fortunate, because otherwise Chiana would have died on account of Crichton using her as bait). In the case of Stark, Ben Browder was so impressed with Paul Goddard that he implored the writers to keep him on.

Harvey was invented purely for a joke. However, the writers quickly realised they could use a Scorpius in John's head to keep Wayne Pygram onboard as a regular castmember without turning Scorpius into a ineffectual sympathetic villain who had to show up and lose every single week.

Scorpius, Stark, Braca, and Chiana. All of them more or less acted their way to main character status.

It's one thing I like about season one; you can see the plot hooks that were being set up that were tossed away when they realized what they had in the actors.

There's hints about a relationship between Aeryn and D'Argo as well as between Zhan and Crichton; that falls away as they realized "Oh, Ben Browder and Claudia Black have such onscreen chemistry together that the problem is explaining why they aren't together." Frankly I'm still amazed they were both married to other people before, during, and after the run of the series. Browder's wife shows up at least three times in minor roles (Any short squeaky alien is probably her), and I'm pretty sure it's because she watched one episode and decided she needed to be on that set.

Likewise the Nebari as long term antagonists. Wayne Pygam acted them into irrelevance with Scorpius.
