>>213848796 (OP)Can't believe Riker stole this guy's beard and took all his power
I heard the Journey's End is the best Star Trek episode. Better than any episode of every show. Is that true /trek/?
It was Wesley's last episode.
>>213848952Havent watched it but the answer is the Inner Light
>>213848952I like pathfinder
Making contact with earth after all that time was pretty emotional
>>213848796 (OP)Whatever happened to this guy? Why was there a revolving door of chief engineers onboard the Enterprise in the first season?
>>213848796 (OP)Is Orville in the same universe as star trek
>>213849123Trials are overseen by embarked specialists from Utopia Planitia
>>213849123It was one of the ways the producers tried to avoid repeating the TOS formula. Not only no Kirk-Spock-McCoy trifecta but no Scotty either.
>>213848952Best episode is The Defector
>>213849123Raped WIl Wheaton
>>213848796 (OP)>have you seen Carey? I keep trying to reach him but he wonโt return my subspace calls and the last time we spoke he told me he was having some issues with a half-Klingon ex-Maquis. Iโm worried bros
>>213849117Its really good at the end tho
>>213849343>Ok thanks Carey we'll let you know when your character is needed again.>6 years later:
>>213848952TNG? I like The Wounded
The Doomsday Machine otherwise.
>Voyager does Christine
Pretty kino
>>213849425Nah. I like Q but he definitely overstayed his welcome
Guys I'm trying to watch DS9 for the first time and I finished the first episode but I'm struggling here. I like the premise and everything but I find myself getting bored, what's in store for me? Do I just need to stick it out?
>>213849520what u need to do...is go talk to Worf
>>213849520Short answer: yes. The first couple seasons have pacing issues but it gets better, then worse, then much better, then much worse. Youโll love it
>>213849520We're doing a /trek/ watchalong now, 1 episode per day at 10pm EST.
But it's only served to remind me how rough the first season really is. It's been shit episode after shit episode but they're entertaining at least in a way, watching the actors figure out the characters, things like that.
You gotta stick it out. S2 is a big improvement and you get Duet towards the end of S1.
>>213849520I love season 1 as much as the later seasons, it was nice on a rewatch to have these standalone storylines before it became totally war-focused
>>213849591We're up to the O'Brien storyteller episode and the only decent episodes so far have been the pilot and Move Along Home (which most people hate but has acquired tasty meme value for me)
>>213849591>>213849615And I guess the tosk episode but really it's kind of just Hugh again isn't it, and without the interesting interplay of conflict internally for Picard
i like the Groumall-types.
>>213850114They certainly got their mileage out of it
>>213850124Fug forgot image
I am starting to think that VOY might legit have had the most unique ships in its run?
>>213849520Season 2 is a big improvement overall, and season 3 really kicks things into high gear
Shes built like a steakhouse but handles like a bistro!
>>213850400But they only serve hasperat!
>>213849506>Super Smash Bros
and finishing with the Merchantman as there are too many freighters that are just the same model reused and the rest I can think of is nutrek shit so they ain't real trek freighters.
>>213849520There's a few duds, but S1 will let you become familiar with the characters
If you can make it through S1, you will enjoy the rest of the show until the very end
i'm anticipating that episode where Bashir tries to fuck that alien with glass bones and paper skin. i don't remember if it's S1 though
>>213848796 (OP)>People fight tooth and nail that enterprise is not bad>Watch some of it>It's a vulcan aids episodeWhat is this overly modernized slop?
>>213849480My only issue with this was
>oh good it's another Tom is an idiot and going to regress 6 seasons of character development episode
>>213850503Neelix's ship is cool
The baxial
>>213850951It is definitely borderline nu
But it has some very likeable episodes and interesting use of cg with good sets and prosthetics
Sort of end of an era start of an era type of show
>Borg assimilate a Klingon General
>He proceeds to break free of the Collective, hijack a Borg Sphere and wage a guerilla war against them with other liberated Borg
Aside from the implication that the first and only time the Borg assimilate a Klingon it is shown to go hilariously wrong, I would have loved to have seen more of his antics.
>>213850951Also
https://youtu.be/-mNuudrDiDg
>0:30 Hoshi nips
>>213851228The implications are indeed humorous
>>213850679It's in the first half of S2
Trash episode but the Klingon restaurant scenes are kino
>>213851611>curses out restaurant owner for serving half-dead RAKHT>haha i love a girl who knows what she wants>tosses the bad shit over his shoulder and gets her freshit's the little things that make even the bad episodes more enjoyable
DS9 set the stage for nutrek.
>>213849452Reminder that the only reason they brought him back was specifically because they forgot they didn't kill him off
>>213849452>>213852189yep lol
they kept bringing back for all the times they time travel back to season 1 and assumed he died
>>213849615The finale arc with the Bajoran military going rogue is pretty good but yeah S1 is mostly forgettable. Babel and the one that introduces the Nagus are good too imo
how sad for the ones who give up on DS9 before they ever meet the best character
>>213852189Voyager brought back more side characters just to kill them than The Americans
>>213852436Read that in his voice
>>213852497you mean ds9
homas Riker (sent to a cardie camp, never seen again)
Lwaxana Troi (unrequited love with Odo, goes back home, final appearance of Majel)
Q (worst Q episode ever, punched by Sisko)
Vash (part of worst Q episode ever, final appearance on Star Trek)
Kurn, Son of Mogh (mind wiped against will, life ruined)
Gowron (acts erratically, unceremoniously killed by Worf)
Kor (gets treated as a burden by Mortok because he's old, gets sent to some random assignment i.e. Scotty in TNG'd)
Koloth (killed)
Kang (killed)
Alexander (grows up to be an absolute joke in the klingon empire)
Duras Sisters (typrical sister stuff, get busted doing illegal deal)
Toral Duras (shows up briefly, gets thwarted)
I didn't count brief cross over cameos like Nechyav and Picard, only guess stars who were involved with an episode beyond one scene. I also didn't count series regulars like Worf and O'Brien. In DS9's 12 instances of cross-over TOS/TNG characters, 10 of them were either killed off (Koloth, Kang, Gowron) or completely shit on (Thomas, Lwaxana, Q, Vash, Kurn, Kor, Alexander). Only the Duras siblings were treated with their usual fare and their cameos were very light so there wasn't much room for DS9's writers to shit on them.
>>2138525472 out of 3 Lwaxana appearances were good though.
>>213851205>>213851274Do they ever do a reverse of the tng trope where they beat the snot out of a lower tech ship?
Seems to me they manage even higher tech races out of sheer "human gumption" even when they don't have shields.
>>213852547Only two of these are questionable or bad and that's Kurn and Gowron.
Imagine saying Kor, Koloth, and Kang's send-offs were bad -- three characters who were absolutely dead and buried and only ever saw the light of day because the DS9 guys were such fans of theirs from TOS.
Your opinions are so terrible that I just know you're a Nu Trek spammer.
nutrek continued the ds9 by only introducing legacy characters so they can either be killed or completely ruined
now tell us how good Lower Decks is, go ahead schizo
get it all out
Voyager Chads, WE'RE FUCKING BACK
https://youtu.be/s-0brgSYDEM?si=lzKPrDDcOyZrXt-B
Which franchise has been ruined worse? Trek or Wars?
>>213853140Holy kino, what an unexpected treat
>>213853140who the FUCK asked for a Voyager game?
seriously, everyone knows the Dominion War is the best setting for a game
I leave the thread for an hour and this is what I come back to. Freighters! Freighters everywhere!
>>213853241No, you'll get another SรYager game and you'll like it.
I would almost put SรY on par with nuTrek. Almost.
>>213853241>get to explore new worlds>get to fight hirogen, borg, species 8472
>>213853172Hard to say but will say Cuck Wars. At least Trek has some profitability to it still.
>>213853293You're welcome anon!
>>213853172Trek because no one was expecting a new Star Wars. Star Wars was a closed movie series.
Trek had a tradition to uphold.
>>213853172I'd rather be in the hands of Paramount than Disney because Disney is never going to let that shit go.
>>213853394Thanks guy. I tried to throw yous for the images but it thought it was spam. Freighters!
>>213853477Well freighters often carry (you)'s in bulk :^)
>>213853140Yooooo more classic trek projects is a good sign. Seems like the game projects realize nutrek sucks and makes no money. When will tv catch up?
>>213853389>fightyou ain't beating entire space empires in a shitty science ship with literally no support
>>213853140Notice how it's not a DISCOVER, or a STRANGE NEW WORLDS, or, Prophets save me, a LOWER DECKS game...
Very interesting indeed.
I thought those shows were massively popular and enjoyed by hundreds of millions of people.
>>213851845He was good in Voyager
>>213853493Youโre alright
>Fuck you, HOO-MON
How do you respond without sounding mad?
>>213854295"Fine, I'll just take these 20 bars of gold-pressed latinum to Martus place instead."
>>213849506Hate those guys.
>>213855063kek well done anon!
>>213853140>inb4 Voyager goes 2 for 2 on good Trek vidya
Why did the salt vampire kill it's husband after he argued for its intelligence? He wanted to give it salt
>>213855942it needed salt
Some guy posted this in the /v/ thread, not sure if /trek/ fellers knew about it
https://borgremastered.com/
it's apparently a remake of old abandonware, a game with de Lancie as Q about the Borg that is basically an interactive movie/FMV type deal.
You can play it at the website above in your browser, going to try it out in a bit. Looks cool though.
>>213856379I begged my parents to buy it for me when it first came out, but they didn't. I forgot about it until around 2010 and it was a pain in the ass to get working. Honestly, it might be easier just to watch a YouTube let's play since there wasn't too much variation and only one real ending
>>213857418It's a screencap goldmine if nothing else, some good memes in here.
>>213853061They get fired on a few times but rarely ever really get completely wiped by advanced species like Romulans or something
He's like the goku of star trek captains where his feelings equate to power level increases
>>213854295I don't believe in the Talmud sorry
>>213857482That's enough.

i've been skimming through random episodes trying to find inspiration for new watchalong advertisements but it's hard

>>213853140Correction; we're getting TWO new Star Trek games.
Star Trek: Infection
pros:
We get a Defiant class ship
We get to play as a Vulcan
We get nerve pinches and mind melds
Peak TNG aesthetic
cons:
It's VR
It's zombies
It's horror survival
The state owes me reparations and an end to the illegal surveillance
>>213857612go back to /int/
>>213857568Don't give up hope. Still to come is If Wishes Were Horses which is fun enough, and the season ends on a high with Duet and Hands of the Prophets, then season 2 hits the ground running with the Circle three-parter.
>>213857572Forgot to link the video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtwoOvjvbiA
Also our Vulcan's name is Ferak but I keep reading it as Freak.
Also the name abbreviates to STI, which is hilarious because it's a game about a deadly infection.
>>213852237I like ENT, but it's a show that definitely shows WoT/Iraq War America hoo rah bush era along with BSG. Also annoys me that the entire crew are basically Americans aside from 1 Brit, and the intro doesn't show any non-American contribution to the space race, which is wild considering the Soviets were the first to do 90% of space shit.
>>213857955>the entire crew are basically Americans aside from 1 Briti didn't consider this before but yeah that is bullshit. Enterprise doesn't really convey Earth being united at all
>>213857955And a Japanese chick, and a Vulcan chick, and a black dude who grew up on a freighter
>>213858057>black dude who grew up on a freighterhe's still basically American
>>213852436Ohohoho how delightful!
>>213858275i was thinking the other day how he started out pretty gregarious and like, light-hearted but as time went on and he had to deal with Dukat's faggotry day in and day out you rarely see him not being serious anymore lol. the joy and optimism: gone
>>213857955>>213858020I said this in the thread yesterday, but thatโs an aspect I actually like about Enterprise. All of the other shows feel so otherworldly and far out from what we are today as a people, but Enterprise is a prequel after all. Itโs gung ho messy American attitude and bumbling crew work for a pre federation society. Theyโve only just begun to figure out how to do it, but theyโre still overzealous babies who want to stick their hands into everything.
>>213858397yeah nah that's not what I want to see in Star Trek.
>>213858185I'll let you know when I find one.
I don't even recognize this place anymore. What happened?
Star Trek has literally always been a show about Americans in space.
>>213858420And thatโs perfectly fine. I enjoy it, but I know Enterprise has its problems and that itโs not for everyone.
>>213858500>Decent>Boring>Boring>Goofy but fun>Decent
>>213858500>>213858542Concerning Flight is an excellent episode because not only is it a fun adventure but also shows a critically overlooked aspect of Star Trek's hologram sentience question.
>>213858542Your take was considered carefully.
Thank you.
>>213858482We got from there to here
>>213858659What do you want, a 6-8 paragraph constructed response?
>>213857955>which is wild considering the Soviets were the first to do 90% of space shit.VPN off, Ivan.
>>213857572Meh. I'll stick to Star Trek Online.
>>213857437>>213856379>>213856379The only thing I remember from this game is that you get to kick Q in the dick
>>213858486This is true. Never heard of a Starfleet Captain reading the Magna Carta to aliens or whatever it is Europeans have. I don't really care to even learn what it's actually called.
>>213858619Also John Rhys Davies is in it
>>213858486The Soviets may have had the head start in the space race, but by sheer quality control and success rate NASA smoked their asses and continued to do so well after the moon landings through the probe era.
>>213859167How is STO these days?
I remember liking it when I played it years ago, but that it started to feel bloated around the time I stopped.
>>213848796 (OP)And then he was never heard of again.
>>213859337I just started replaying it about a month ago, actually. I got a lifetime sub way back at launch and I suppose it's been a consistently good investment when I get the itch I can always play. I really have no idea what the end game looks like at this point. I've been enjoying leveling every now and again.
>>213859306Hey listen they gave us the only images we have of Venus' surface. in color even. The crafts then melted within hours. it's pretty awesome desu
>>213859414Endgame is DPS chasing, cosmetics, and bitching about the devs either putting something good in a loot box or not bringing back old spaghetti code shit like the Foundry..
Enterprise makes me nostalgic for my space phase as a kid. It taps into that boyishly exciting optimistic tone of space program outreach that doesn't really seem to exist anymore.
>>213859471>the FoundryAh yeah, I thought it was a cool idea but never played a single foundry mission.
Don't mind me, just a simple tailor passing through
>>213859591Andy Robinson's manboobs are so fucking gross
>>213859591steve from blues clues lookin ass
>>213859612Iโll have you know that those are Obsidian Order Intelli-Tits, perfect for clandestinely storing information and wetworks gear. Theyโre also quite the rage on Cardassia Prime. 100% Salt Vampire fur.
>>213859798Your imagination is really running wild on you tonight, constable Odo. I can really thank Bashir for my fresh weight gain, the more I keep my mouth full the less I have to talk at our breakfasts.
>>213859550I tried playing one someone actually intended as a real story experience and it was the shittiest thing ever. After that I just used it for the achievements and dailies.
>>213858185Have an unhealthy obsession with freighters.
"Freighters could be here" Travis thought, "I've never been on this route before. There could be pirates anywhere." The cool galactic wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE Nausicaans" he thought. Faith of the Heart reverberated his entire cargo hold, making it pulsate even as the synthesized wine circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of contact with other ships. "With warp nacelles, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
>>213853140What is it?
What do you do?
My voyager sim is FTL

>>213860905It Fucking says so right there you Cocksucker! You young Millennial and/or Zoomer Fuck! You Fucking Shitbirds better learn to accept this is legit Star Trek and it's part of the Star Trek shows history and canon!
>>213860742He probably transferred to another ship to be full time chief engineer. That ship was later destroyed in the Wolf 359 tragedy.
>>213860943it's ok to talk about snw here in good faith but you should just know and be aware that most /trek/nonnies don't consider it as star trek! sorry!
>>213858500>TOS: Bombastic title taken from classic literature that sparks the imagination >Everything else: boring, nebulous, one or two word titles that you skim over in the TV Guide

>>213860853Basically its funny that a bunch of green eco morons turned into something like the Borg because they thought Earth was dying but Earth turned out to be just fine. And everything they did was for nothing. It was stupid that Kirk felt bad for blowing them up. They deserved to get blown up big time.

>>213859209It's called: We haven't gone to war with each other in the last 30 years aren't we obviously more advanced than Americans?????? >>213853195So, Star Trek is basically space Marxism, right? No money, no poverty, replicators make what people need, etc. And "woke" is essentially cultural Marxism where identity has replaced class as the source of the "struggle". So, since both are space Marxism, what do you have against nuTrek?

>That Picard never had a brush with death, never came face to face with his own mortality, never realized how fragile life is or how important each moment must be. So his life never came into focus. He drifted through much of his career, with no plan or agenda, going from one assignment to the next, never seizing the opportunities that presented themselves. He never led the away team on Milika III to save the ambassador, or took charge of the Stargazer's bridge when its captain was killed. And no one ever offered him a command. He learned to play it safe. And he never, ever, got noticed by anyone.

Star Trek is filled with Anglo propaganda .Journey's End has half the episode talking about how Hispanics are intrinsically evil and saying historically incorrect nonsense to justify it .

There are very few states that have the laws heโs jerking off to kids pretending exist in his jurisdiction. The Mormons and other weirdos. Were they really too lazy and/or broke to design original uniforms for the post-movies, pre-TNG era? It worked for the movies in an action-adventure context, but I just can't buy ships full of Starfleet officers going about their normal exploratory duties looking like stuffy naval imperialists. The most effort the production team ever put into altering these uniforms was to just remove the collar.
>>213867040please dont look into the procurement process for real military uniforms
>>213867040It was simply cheaper to reuse the dozens of uniforms made for the movies when they wanted to show people from the "before times" (it also conveys it to the audience that these are from the "past")
In-universe it makes no sense because Starfleet completely overhauls their uniforms like every seven years
>>213867165>In-universe it makes no sense because Starfleet completely overhauls their uniforms like every seven yearsI dont believe they do. There are far too many ships and planets spread out across too far a distance. It makes more sense each ship recieves a uniform uniquely intreperted from the time and locality they depart from, with basic regulations that denote rank being universal.
>>213867347Yeah but to use the TWOK uniforms with little modifications for 70 years?
>>213866823You are a third worlder. You can be range banned. Tens of thousands of active users stop seeing ads if you range ban one American so weโre immune. That system only exist to police your third world ass we have actual laws and regulations outside of a tv show you fucking retard
nuTrek OP coming as soon as the 300-second timer finishes!
>>213867408its my head canon, not how the shows are portrayed.
>>213867614In my head canon the Enterprise-C crew was actually wearing a uniform that's like a step between the movies and TNG rather than movie monster maroons without the turtlenecks
>>213867449we all know it's near your bed time, old man, no need to make empty threats
>>213867040Someone really, really liked that uniform and lobbied to keep it retained possibly while on their deathbed, and it was only after they croaked that Starfleet was able to lobby for something new.
Kind of like how Sweden kept wearing tricorns for a literal century after everyone else ditched them, because it reminded them of the time they were boss.

Itโs less effective than a taser and tasers donโt work. If you shoot someone with a nine millimeter anywhere other than than the brain spine lungs or heart they are still going to kill you with their hands and take you with them. This is not a videogame. Law enforcement all carry super hot ammo that will pass right through the average man without expanding because they have to be prepared for giant fat strong people
Bout to start the latest episode of STAR TREK: Strange New Worlds. It's about a journalist so I am sure I'll hate it. But I'll hate watch it so YOU don't have to.

this ep of ent blows. heading off early tonight, goodnight star/trek/.
>>213868471This episode is, to my amateur, low-IQ mind, an offensive affront to the entire history of Star Trek. I can't begin to describe how bullshit this episode is. Although, to be fair, it's definitely not "quippy". Grimdark people might like this episode I don't know.
>>213868273I'm about to check it out too. I've mostly enjoyed it sofar. It's a low bar to clear but it's easily the best of NuTrek
