Could say the same about the originals, to be fair. The first one is a clunky B-movie from the 70's, and the third one is a cash in with teddy bears. The second one is a solid enough middle film in a trilogy that sets things up that don't pay off very well. I don't really get Vader's arc, or why Luke forgives him. That was very clunkily written in. I think Lando is mostly a forced diversity character who doesn't do very much. Carrie Fisher wasn't attractive enough for the character she was supposed to be playing. etc.
