You’re not in the store anymore; you’re back at the prep station, slicing tomatoes with military precision, hearing a customer bark, “No onions, I said no onions!” even though you’re alone in aisle 7.

You’ll be at a barbecue, holding a burger, and suddenly you’re mentally back in the kitchen, calculating how many slices of turkey would fit on a six-inch versus a footlong, or wondering if you remembered to restock the jalapeños. You catch yourself apologizing to no one for not having avocado that day. Your friends laugh when you instinctively ask if they want their sandwich “to go,” but they don’t get it—you’re not fully here. Part of you is still trapped behind that counter, forever folding deli paper around that sub.

Thought it was funny how he confronted the guy who “tortured”(mentored) him and the dude was completely unapologetic. His whole mentality is very much a him problem.

Living with the guilt is the hardest part for me. I joined up after Subtember 11th because I wanted to make a difference. What a joke. Still feel like I let down that kid who wanted extra pickles. My C.O. told me to short him because the tray was empty and we were too slammed to restock. I didn't have time to think, I was just following orders.

Just a fucking kid. I still remember his eyes. The way he looked at me. Like he was asking "why?". I still don't have an answer for him. Maybe I never will.

The cinematography is great. The plot and the character's motivations make very little sense though and there's at least one episode where it's literally one continuous shot of the characters shrieking at each other with no story progression.

In the first season the main character mostly serves construction workers sandwiches. They are just hungry and don't care if something is 100% perfect and exquisite as long as they get a meal on their lunch break. Our hero spergs out about a bunch of little things that his customers would never notice or care about, and stresses out his employees and the viewer. The black girl is a Mary Sue that our protagonist likes and trusts for no reason, and she's allowed to do anything she wants and get away with making outrageous alterations to his business without permission. The writers are too scared and woke to add any sexual tension between them so it never makes sense why the main character doesn't fire her.

Then in the second season he completely sells out and rapes his brother's restaurant by completely gutting it, making it pretentious and faggy, and eliminating any trace of his brother's legacy which makes no sense because it's the whole reason he was there in the first place.

I never watched the third season.

There's a type of person who only feels good when they're doing a good job for someone else and earning praise. They always serve others and sacrifice their own time and expectations just to get hear "good boy".
