If the local zeitgeist would have you believe it, TOS remains the most memorable era of Trek.
And to be honest, I like that, I just wish they would present it as is and not try to redesign everything with each new depiction.

That's a common reaction to season 1. It's a very dramatic shift going from the playful banter and good spirits of TOS to the cold unemotional weird TNG.
The only thing I can say is, the crew are just getting to know each other in season 1, they open up to one another as time passes.

I'm just reporting the news. The TOS episodes "Miri," "Plato's Stepchildren," "The Empath," and "Whom Gods Destroy" were banned for quite a while because they were considered inappropriate for children.
