The guy is a cartoon in Breaking Bad. Lalo has some bullshit like turning into spiderman and jumping up into the ceiling, but Mike just breaks any realism n the story.

I don't entirely agree with the anons who say it went to shit after Chuck died. I think season 4 maintains the high quality of the earlier seasons and is also a necessary postscript for the Chuck arc and the fallout from it setting Jimmy down the final path towards scumbaggery, while the Werner arc completes Mike's descent into cold blooded killer. It would've been an ideal place to wrap up the main storylines.

It really goes to shit once the present timeline takes over everything. The cartel arc is what drove the show.

It's worse than Breaking Bad and should never have been made. You see the characters in Breaking Bad with limited information and you make your own backstories for them. Then you watch Better call Saul and their actual backstories are weird and really lame. Mike is just some former cop guy and parking attendant? Before Saul was a sleazy lawyer he was some sort of not so good lawyer? And all the actors are so goddamn old. It's all just very forced and awkward. I really wished I never watched the show.

This honestly I didn't get it tho.
I mean, she would have been just as miserable alone, doing menial work with no life and no actual close relationships, and nothing in her character suggests that she's incapable to be alone and codependent enough to NEED a partner to function.

So what, she decided to get railed on the regular by a ridicolous guy she more or less despises only so that she could punish herself just a bit more?

it was enjoyable watching something in that universe where the main guy actually has a chick who has his back, but i still think the show needed chuck too much and couldn't hold my interest once they let the cartel shit dominate. gus wasn't as interesting anymore, the lab construction subplot was spectacularly dull with a complete failure to generate sympathy from me towards werner. lalo was refreshing but there was bizarre supervillain shit with him

Pretty much the same writing team as BCS, so... expect a lot of montages
Anonymous No.213874491 >>213874567
I often think Better Call Saul is better until I rewatch Breaking Bad clips, and it reminds me of how superior BB actually is. The acting and emotional moments hit harder. It might just be how much older all the actors in BCS look which takes me out of it, and why prequels are generally a shit idea. There was too much Chuck, and the cartel storyline took too much focus away from Jimmy. If it was just a show about lawyer hijicks, it would've been even better. We just had a "good man becomes villain" series-long chacter arc with Walter White, I think it was a mistake to repeat that structurally with Jimmy gradually becoming Saul. Most people were dying for Saul to finally appear by the end and kept getting blueballed

They really should have just had him be Saul from the start. The way it was done, going from freaking out about people dying to casually joking about Badger doesn't really work.

they needed to show jimmy the lawyer "breaking bad" and becoming saul. how fixing his life and trying to walk the straight and narrow path could not possibly work with adversaries like chuck in his way. him telling howard chuck's suicide was howard's cross to bear was his "stay out of my territory" moment.
