I had a theory after watching the last episode.
Wendy is the only hybrid, the others are synths planted with false memories, which is why Boy doesn't care too much if they get destroyed on the ship but wanted Kirsh to keep an eye on Wendy. From what we've seen the process "simply" copies a mind into an android body. The original person dies and the copy lives.

Yeah but my point is that works with humans as a whole. We all die eventually and the next generation continues, except it may come to a point where the "next generation" is transhuman, then more artificial than human, then purely synthetic.
We're at the point where any further progress continues along this path. By the time these newer "different" generations come along it won't matter to you since you'll be long dead.
This is compressed for dramatic purposes in the show. The kid dies right away and a robot patterned after the kid "lives". If a similar tech is invented and implemented people might not die "right away" but live their life to the end, then make a successor "person" that will carry on their memories and personality. As for the show, yes it has made a lot of missteps, Howley is clearly retarded, his disregard for the lore is might annoying and his style is childish at times. That said, the atmosphere and effects are good and very comfy, Kirsh and Morrow are fantastic and there's plenty of entertaining scenes for Aliens fans.

I remember watching the original alien and the creepiest/scariest stuff for me was before the xenomorph. Having some alien attached to a person's face, feeding off of him and pumping him with eggs, that's the most terrifying thing in any of these alien shits. And now face hugger scenes are really short and fast. Honestly the scariest thing in this new show is the existential horror of these kids being turned into robots. Having one them get hacked by the cyborg so that he'd hear him in his head randomly is spooky and fucked up. Episode 3 has been the best ep so far tho.
