Pretty sure the charge is "soliciting sexual acts from a minor" or something similar, so I think telling a minor obscene things isn't actually illegal so long as you somehow avoid suggesting engaging in sexual acts between each other.

All of the TCAP and Hansenverse sting operations don't "lure" the pedos. They let the dudes initiate contact. Entrapment is when you entice someone to do something they wouldn't otherwise do. If you're reaching out to random kids online and then leading sexual conversations it's pretty clear your intent was your own and not influenced by the desire to make an arrest.
