lmao which studio exec thought this would be a good concept for a full-length film? I bet whoever thought this up is getting relentlessly mocked behind their back by every single person they work with.

Then again, toxic positivity is a huge problem in Hollywood. There's an equally good chance that everyone who worked on the film is an idiot yes-man and they're all patting themselves on the back and refusing to admit this is one of the worst movies ever made.

Yeah, I watched it because the film review podcast I listen to was doing an episode about it, it's as bad or worse than you've heard. The only thing that stops it being completely unwatchable is that it's so bad it's actually hilarious.

I was doomscrolling amazon video and it popped up. I just wanted to see if there would be anything interesting to put on in the background and maybe catch my interest. After 5 minutes I realize the whole screenshare/webcam thing wasn't just an opening scene and it was the whole fucking movie so I turned it off.

Yeah. It's definitely bad, but somehow not nearly as bad as I was expecting from the hype. The clips you've seen are pretty much the funniest parts, with long stretches of nothing interesting between them.
I wouldn't really recommend watching it for entertainment, but I do have to admit the time I spent watching it flew by, so I must have enjoyed it more than I realize. It just wasn't as "so bad it's good" as I was led to believe.

I'm sure the pitch sounded revolutionary in a misguided way that only people outside of the industry could have gleaned. "The whole thing takes place on a computer screen!" is something only an ideas guy could think sounds good, and not what any sane audience would ask for. I'm also reasonably sure this wasn't originally going to be a War of the Worlds movie, but that they tacked the name on at the end to try and salvage what was clearly a mess at the end of the day. This wouldn't have even registered with the population without the name.

It's (mostly) unintentionally very funny and a fun watch with friends. I can see it being a cult film in time.
