You have to understand that every studio gets masive social media blowback and media criticism for making anything without a certain diversity quota. I really don't get how black people being in fantasy triggers you guys so much? As an early 90s baby I grew up on fantasy rpgs like everquest and elder scrolls so seeing black coded races(Erudites and Redguards) was normal. And honestly I never heard a single segment of the fanbase for something like Elder Scrolls in the 2000s or most of the 2010s ever say the Redguards didn't fit the setting of TES because they phenotypically looked like real world populations that have a lot of sub saharan ancestry but for whatever reason in the last couple of years that sentiment has flipped. Now it's considered immersion breaking if black people or black coded races exist in fantasy media despite no one feeling that way in the 2000s.

The Hobbit movies were bad for a completely different reason. Mostly to do with the pre production being a huge mess wiith Peter Jackson being dragged back in last moment. And because it was such a mess Petey fell into a lot of classic traps that he does.
LotR had over half a decade to prepare everything. The Hobbit had nowhere close to that.

A fantasy world that is constructed with black people in it is perfectly fine, if it makes sense. You need to know where these people live in the world, how do they travel, trade, fight whatever. How they fit in the world.
If you just fucking change 30% of the characters to black without any cohesion it breaks the reality and it disrespects the source.
Like the Witcher show for example. Black people even already exist in that universe right, but they just haphazardly sprinkled black people into the backgrounds of medieval villages, which anybody familiar with the Witcher knows it makes no sense to do that. This is a massive red flag to anybody watching the show because they were already a fan of the series.
Thats not even touching race swapping of major characters and the literal 0 effort to fit in with whats established in the books/games.
