>All You Need is Kill
Iconic, memorable, but says nothing about the movie, doesn't match the content.
>Edge of Tomorrow
Safe, somewhat descriptive, but generic. I can see why they went with this initially.
>Live Die Repeat
Most descriptive, but also generic but without confidence, as they retained "Edge of Tomorrow"

Has a great movie ever been fucked over by unintentionally shitty marketing the way this one has? It's still the best Hollywood anime/manga adaptation and is one of the last great original sci-fi movies.

Ad Astra
the marketing made it look like some sci-fi action flick with Brad Pitt so the people who seen it hated it, and the people who'd love it never saw it

I think the issue is that it wasn't what people who read the book wanted it to be while normalfags were kind of burned out by all the sci-fi coming out that year (Oblivion, Gravity, Elysium, Pacific Rim etc.).
In retrospect, 2013 was actually a pretty great year if you liked sci-fi.

>Ad Astra
Definitely another contender, shocking it was such a flop given it was far better than Interstellar and likely could've been as popular or more had it had better marketing given Pitt was coming off the high of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood too.

anyway, the movie is far better than the manga

I was going to mock you for calling Ad Astra better than Interstellar but having watched both recently for the first time I have to admit they are both profoundly mid and it could go either way

I think I prefer Ad Astra over Interstellar so much because I think it does the "le hard science fiction" angle a lot better and is less overstuffed. It's more streamlined and confident.

yeah, that's something that Interstellar really never tried to be.
It's the story of a relationship between a father and his daughter, the space travel thing is purely accessory.
