I really liked it. A good reminder that a horror movie can be great simply by being well made with interesting characters and doesn't need to try and use the horror as an explicit allegory for anything (although I think there is enough there to interpret allegorically if you so desire).

the movie's message is about parasitical entities (parasites are a backgorund theme throughout) turning us against one another, to the point of weaponizing us (warmongering), for their selfish purposes (extending their lives/wealth at the expense of others),while feeding us slop (campbell's is a not-so-subtle indicator throughout the movie) to keep us satisfied with our current standing only so that we don't feel like overthrowing the status quo, and with it the parasites responsible (the witch in the movie).

it's unsubtle, unrefined and frankly, insulting. not to mention a commie dogwhistle. it also sucks as a horror and as a comedy. solid 2/5.
