It’s always funny when prequelfags try to pretend that Lucas is some based and redpilled filmmaker that Hollywood is trying to silence.

Reminder Lucas pitched a female protagonist for the sequel trilogy. And at the end it would be revealed Leia was the real chosen one.

George Lucas is a real unreliable narrator around this political stuff. I personally feel like he was embarassed by Star Wars and saw it as a noose around his neck because so much of his political comments around the OT feel retroactive as fuck. But then with the prequels he did directly talk about Bush, Patriot Act and Iraq directly influencing the prequels.

Boba Fett to me is a perfect example of this unreliable narrator thing:
>Boba Fett is insanely popular.
>For some reason that bothers Lucas.
>Unceremoniously kills him off.
>Regrets it because of the popularity.
>Post TPM thinks fan service will help and introduces Jango Fett almost desperately in AOTC.
Similar thing happened to Darth Maul:
>Cool aesthetic, very popular.
>Regrets killing him off and has his story in Clone Wars.
>Then debates using him for one of his sequel ideas.

I have seen about 6 different examples for the sequel trilogy. The one that commonly gets posted about Leia fighting Darth Maul's crime empire or whatever was just the last one and talked about in a book so people latch on to it.

He's definitely someone Hollywood has been trying to silence, regardless of his moderate politics.

Star Wars was supposed to be for everyone, but like all boomers Lucas has just got more and more woke over the years.

The reason Nixon is remembered as a super conservative is because the primary system changed during his tenure and that created a bunch of the extremist pandering that people would go towards their base.

Nixon even discussed universal basic income as an idea at one point.

Regarding Darth Maul, anyone who remembers as far back as 10+ years is at least familiar with the cancelled game about him.
It was supposed to be set around the Clone Wars after he somehow returned, but then, one day, George comes by to check on progress. He notices a figure of EU character Darth Talon and assumes she is meant to be Maul's apprentice/sister in this new game despite the character existing 100+ years later (because, remember, George never gave a flying fuck about the EU). Even after the team sets him straight, he insists they find a way to work her into the game by making this Maul a clone of the original.
THAT is most likely where that concept piece of Maul and Talon came from, and just like Gary Kurtz's alleged original idea for RotJ, fans dissatisfied with the ST latched onto it without a second thought.

He had enough money that he could independently produce any movie he wanted. Why was he even looking for someone else to produce it?

George Lucas is the most unreliable narrator on earth
I have witnessed him claim Star Wars is about
>Nazi Germany
>the Roman Empire
>George W. Bush
>Richard Nixon
>the Vietnam War
>the American Revolution

You catch him on any given day and he'll change his mind about what he intended when he made Star Wars

Nixon was also trying to pass universal healthcare coverage

Nixon
>forcibly raised wages
>created EPA
>created OSHA
>opposed all the deregulation that Carter later forced through

Boomers don't care though, they only think what the flickering box in the 70s told them to think.
