the plots might have been ok, the other characters may have been interesting, but the character Fillmore was one of the most monotonous, boring cartoon characters in the world. like morpheus as a child.

I watched it recently, Ingrid gets hit on and sexually harassed like every other episode. It actually surprised me by how frequent it was and how uncomfortable it made me, and that's saying something because I'm not at all bothered by sex and especially not concerning goddamn cartoon characters. I'm sure if I watched it as a kid it wouldn't have stood out so much.

We only had hall monitors in elementary school. it was only surprising because of how ham-fisted it was, the first two times I laughed and got the joke and obvious references to the way male characters used to talk to female characters in those old noir detective shows and movies that this cartoon is a parody of, but then it kept going and going.

They have a few episodes where they get emotional and bond as friends. I they even hang out with each other's families iirc. Romance wasn't a factor in the show at all, they never set Ingrid up with anyone, but they did have that one episode where Fillmore and Penny try to rekindle their relationship.

Remember when tv shows had coherent concepts and could competently execute those concepts.This was like everyone in right age demographic's 20th favourite show at the time and it was still decent.

The last episode should have been them as adults having become real detectives, solving a real murder, and they realise it somehow ties back into a seemingly trivial parralel plot that took place when they were at school. Like Kid Detective but just tame enough to be the last episode of a kids show. Like yes you have a murder happen but not like, a gorey or violent one.

Most cartoons are shit. CN had all the great ones. Nick was shit, that's why SpongeBob and Fairly Oddparents broke out so hard, they were actually half decent and funny. Most Nickslop was gross toilet humor. That only gets you so far before it becomes annoying. Rocko or Catdog or Aah Real Monsters, all disgusting. Angry Beavers was boring as fuck. Cow and Chicken was CNs equivalent, shit was hot garbage. But they at least had kino like Dexter and Johnny Bravo and EEE, PPG, Samurai Jack, Courage, KND.

Then you've got pure gabrage like Lloyd in Space or Filmore. This trash is irredeemable, would easily change the channel every single time. I'd rather watch fucking Cyber Chase or Arthur.

The problem with this show is that the majority of the jokes are for adults, even the premise being a parody of cop shows is completely lost on kids.
