I think you’re right. In 2013 the whole “what if super hero character was in real life” genre was still novel. Now people are burnt out on it and burned by terrible installments that can be usually be found on streaming a few months after release anyway

man of steel being moderately successful internationally is the main reason they yanked the rug out from under snyder. hollywood only gets 20-30% of the international gross, so its an exchange of yield for volume, and the volume didn't happen either. every dollar of domestic gross is worth two of international.

MoS came after a string of flops like Green Lantern, Jonah Hex and Superman returns. It was a good movie which has the same Cinemascore and IMDb score as Superman(2025).
Gunn made Suicide Squad 2 which is one of the worst DC flops ever.

Bullshit. Hollywood studios get 25% of gross only in China and Superman got $8,900,000 there. Hollywood gets close to 50% worldwide. MoS beats Domesticman even without the Chinese box office.

>According to recent figures from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) almost 70 per cent of the studios’ annual revenue from box office now comes from international markets.
