Many upper class liberals are the way they are because they don't interact with the problems they encourage, or are otherwise unaffected by them (or even benefit from them). Wholesome brown immigrants are so awesome when they're flooding poor towns, or only show up in your neck of the woods when it's time to run the taco cart or tend to your garden, but they're not so pleasant when they're camping out on your street, attacking your friends/family, flooding your schools, or sucking away funds and time from your public services.
