Anyone else think the tigress scenes are a bit forced and awkward? I swear it feels like they almost wanted to go for a romance but didn’t for whatever reason.

It was a cash grab. The first movie grossed 215 million domestically, plus it also did really well internationally. DreamWorks rushed a sequel afterwards.

The first Kung Fu Panda was a masterpiece, one of the greatest animated features ever made. Second one bored me and seemed like a sequel cash grab, along with the other sequels. I don't know why this gets praised so much.

There is not one scene on par with the likes of Tai Lung's escape, the bridge fight, Po vs Tai Lung etc etc. The first movie is such a perfectly crafted, tightly woven experience and to think there are some that think the second is better is bewildering to me.

Yeah they clearly chickened out of whatever plot line they were planning for her. I agree that it seems initially like a build towards a romance then they randomly introduce a female panda.

Both are Zoomer movies, much like Megamind and HTTYD. Stuff like Antz and Shrek are more strictly Milennial-coded (though the latter was hugely popular and beloved by Zoomies too).
