I don’t get it, how hard is it to make a semi faithful RE adaptation that isn’t full blown retarded and takes too many liberties. The first Mila flick was decent but the franchise has so much potential but again and again they keep pumping out complete shit, from the cast to the movie/show’s premise.

Unless Fulci is directing in the '80s, before the games even existed, it can't work.
Anderson's first movie was a decent way to capture the spirit of the games, just it spent the entire time in a lab instead of spending more time in a mundane setting before uncovering a lab. I don't trust Cregger to make a GOOD movie, but this idea at least sounds better than the recent "mash RE1 and 2 remakes together at the same time, and keep Birkin in a white tee instead of a fucking labcoat" slop.

She's still in that "I am a serious actor" phase all actors get after they win an Oscar. She'll get over it soon enough, when she needs work.

Got around to watching pic related the other day:

Supposedly there is no actual female lead, she would have just been a random character that the main dude meets who gets killed. In other words a bit part, which is why she likely turned it down. Supposedly the entire movie will focus on the one guy stumbling around Racoon City while the outbreak is happening
