I watched the first episode of this because it was shilled here so much
Not only did nothing happen, but I had to double check that I didn't accidentally start at the wrong season because in the pilot they talk about how the quest is already over. I then thought that this is one of these shows where the first scene is set in the future, but then it flashes back and you see the quest. nope.
Does anything happen in later episodes?

I fucking hate anime in general. The pacing and writing is trash 99% of the time. But... Frieren is a fucking masterpiece of a show. It suffers from expo dumps but the quality is incredible and would probably be even better if it wasn't animated for losers.
