I’ve never done this and I don’t get it
Closest I’ve come is that rent a girlfriend anime but I didn’t realize how much I hated it until season 3
I thought it was building up to something but the characters just got worse and worse
The second I realized it was making me angry I just dropped it
I think I wanted to see what happened but in that particular case I knew that the answer was “nothing” so it was easy to eject

Media franchises want you to be fantatical consumers. They push anxiety like fear of missing out to keep you invested. But overhype leads to burn out. Burn out constantly leads to a feeling that everything is overrated because it is overhyped because of the marketing. Into this space it feels cathartic to hate watch and complain. Complaining in such a manner is like releasing the tension from the marketing push.

I don't. I'm willing to give most things a chance, but if I'm not really enjoying it by the second episode I give up.

To post about it on /tv/. Did it with Watchmen, TD S04 and Severance S02. I started out like Severance but it ended up hate watching.

I barely get invested in tv series, never mind watching stuff I don’t like.

I dropped it a long time ago. Didn't even watch boba fat or anything that came after it. If they want the woman audience they can choke on it.
