rewatched it and every episode of the pre dream seasons gave me a chuckle,i cant remember a newer show doing that.

I used to fall asleep to the first 7 seasons for years, never have finished it but I've seen the first few seasons hundreds of times

I respect the dream seasons for taking the big swing even if they didn't always hit, because it was clearly one guy's hairbrained experiment. The last few seasons were just a soulless hard resent that had the network taking over the show completely.

I liked the post-Dreamland seasons. They had actual stories and arcs rather than just being farces to hang jokes on. Not that I didn't like the other seasons, just felt it got better as it went on.

Also, Dreamland 1999 star fighter Cheryl gets my dick so hard you can smell it.

Seaons 1-3 and maybe 4 were peak. I stopped watching at around the Archer Vice arc and everything I've heard about the show since has only validated my decision.

100% agree. It's great for the first two, maybe three seasons, and still very watchable up to the coma seasons. After that it fucks up the formula by trying to shit all over Archer. We know he's an asshole, that's the joke, the humor comes from him constantly being awesome at his job despite being a drunk jackass.
I think it all comes at the expense of the writers feeling like it was bad to make edgy jokes and needing to bring Archer down a peg for moral reasons, or whatever. But that's not funny, and it was the template the show was built on.

Yeah that really killed it for me. I like seeing a drunk chad do spy stuff that's the whole reason I watched the show. Once that changed it just felt like writers trying to take shots at their childhood bullies. For how much they champion therapy it doesn't seem to be working. Get help, don't channel it into your work.

I watched it all the way through, it was never bad but very average and unmemorable by the later seasons, the sendoff for Malory was nice though

Happens to all animated shows that run on for too long, they just start rehashing the same jokes/characters/ideas and get sloppy, it's currently happening to Rick and Morty

It's honestly an acquired taste, but if you like it, it's a pretty solid watch all the way through. I certainly didn't like it much when I first seen it during its initial run. It was watching reruns at work that really introduced me to a more general picture of the series, which grew on me.

It was great then at the Vice season and afterwards it's like the comedy just dropped. It was enjoyable as a show but that's it.

They fucked it up when they stopped being called ISIS because some terrorists took their name.

the problem is they ran through all their storylines too quickly and started repeating stuff, which became too apparent in the dream seasons where literally the same thing happens multiple times. barry gets turned into a cyborg a total of 5 times throughout the series, its insane.

by then it was too late. they came up with new ideas but all the characters had already gone through their character arcs so it didn't make sense. it felt like everything reverted back to season 1 and nothing effected the characters in anyway.

I liked Vice. That was the only good season where they weren't spies.
