It was comfy for a couple seasons. It’s not for everyone but it wasn’t straight up terrible like Rick and Morty.

it’s also dated. that type of comedy wasnt really mainstream yet.

It might have been a good show without the animal gimmick.

I don't know, but I've never found Bojack Horseman compelling. A talking horse guy who is going through "relatable struggles" will never not be ridiculous to me. The writing is also very Californian, and I hate Californians.

It has some funny moments but it’s overall just meandering mental health junk food for people with depression and bipolar to feel better about themselves because bojack is such a piece of shit that he makes the other characters that are also shitty more palatable. The ending was not bad imo, but I haven’t once thought of rewatching since it ended. I also watched it post- college when I was an insufferable existential dread faggot so i guess it catered to that part of me. I do like the message at the end of season 2 about roooning though.

It’s really not that good though. It’s fine. If it was 4 seasons shorter it would have been much better. 5 seasons of bojack seeking redemption only to have him fall on his ass gets old quick, only to have him fully accept he’s a pos at the end. Could’ve done that much quicker

Its just a lot of people's first animated show that deals with more serious topics. They also hamfisted a lot of talking point episodes that give people things to argument over.

That whole episode where he takes Penny to prom is set up for a devils advocate argument to an excessive amount. There was no nuance to it and basic brained watchers ate it up.
