It's really baffling.
I get why women are all ugly in media.... it's because women are the main demographic for everything, and they fly into an irrational rage when they see other women that are attractive. So they make all the female characters butt-ugly to placate their audience and keep them consuming...
But in western animation, EVERYTHING is ugly. not just the female characters, but the male characters, and all the background art as well. It's fucking stupid and it's clearly being done on purpose for some ridiculous post-modern "bro it's bad on purpose coz we're deconstructing the medium and subverting expectations" horse shit.
