AvP just makes me fucking mad. As a kid the dark horse miniseries were some of the first comics I ever bought, and I read through them a million fucking times.
Dark horse bought the adaptation rights for a lot of fox properties, comic adaptations of the movies, publishing novelizations, crap like that, it was dark horse's bread and butter.
In addition to the stuff from the actual movies, they got a lot of unfinished shit that never got out of pre-production.
One of these included an abandoned sequel to aliens, which would tie in the predators. They had a script, concept art by Ron Cobb (he's the guy responsible for all the aesthetics that aren't geiger, he worked on total recall, the sixth day jet copters are 100% ron cobb, and had his hand in a lot of design ideas in the original Halo game), story boards, basically everything you need before you start casting and filming the movie.
Weaver and Scott got wind of it, and swooped in to shut it down with their own sequel idea to aliens that was abandoned.
But its genuinely great, you can go find it online for free and read it in an afternoon.
The movie was just a dogshit dirt cheap pale imitation with so many compromises and changes that its just offensive to the pedestal I have the AvP story on in my head.
