Oppenheimer has been the only good one. Also, Nolan is about to set a record for hot-cold as a director with the release of his Satanic, gay/trans Odyssey. Also, the legal finale of the Oppy film should have been about the two Jews that were executed for selling nukes to red Soviet Russia.

That movie is very effectiveβ€”at demoralizing and pissing off real DnD fans, and that was the goal, so as I say, very effective.

IDK, slim pickings. Most of the films I've watched in the past few years, which weren't a lot to begin with, are pre-2020.

The Empty Man (2020) left a good impression.
Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Human (2023-4)
Nosferatu (2025) for personal reasons.

Evil Dead Rise (2022) had a cool intro, very metal. If Mandy (2017) was released in the past five years I'd pick that as well.

Flicking through Letterboxd, it seems the 2020s have been pretty shitty so far. I have only 13 films I've "liked" and I don't particularly love any of them. Best I can do is picrel and The Northman

Best: Smile 2
Worth mentioning:
The Substance
Challengers
Red One
Palm Springs
Archive
Underwater

Then another 50 watchable 5/10s.

Movies aren't really an interesting or noteworthy cultural art anymore, that died in the 00s with the switch to digital

There are 2020s movies I had some fun watching but none that I would call a must watch, they're just 90 minute distractions for when you get bored
