So I'm halfway through the first season and this shit is kinda ass.
Does it get better?

I think its serviceable through first 2 seasons, then it kinda goes off the rails and becomes 'pointless'. Everything kinda happens too 'easy'. It has some amazing moments tho, especially Guillermo Del Toro's directed episodes.

I'd say writing wise it gets more interesting after season 1. The one thing overall that makes the show interesting is they show the city devolve. But yeah you have to put up with crappy actors and it being generally schlock.

Also the spic mary sue/del taco self insert is an enormous scumbag nigger and the show tonally glazes him.

Only the first episode is good. Government agency vs vampires is great. Same formula as an X-Files episode. Then it quickly becomes nonsense.

It's perfect, the entire series is flawless. The best horror series ever except for The X-Files and Del Toro's best work by far.

It gets a bit odd. The series is adapted from a book trilogy that Del Toro co-authored. The first season covers the entire first book. Then they decided to do four more seasons, two per book. So seasons 2 and 3 cover book 2. Then they got cancelled and so the last season has to rush to wrap everything up.
So yeah there's some issues, but desu if you're enjoying season 1 it doesn't take a nosedive or anything in future seasons, it stays solidly consistent

On a visual level it's very good, and the vampires are hardcore like the ones from Blade II.

The writing is just ok for the most part, and the kid and his Ma were insufferable. Unfortunately they dominate the screen time and I noped out.

When it happened to me i could see the damage by shining my phones flashlight from a real close angle from the corner of my eye. Please go see an eye doctor, the test is super simple and painless and cheap.
They put a drop of eye in your eye that stains your cornea and then they shine a blacklight on it, it takes like 30 seconds or something.

At the very least use eyedrops, you're probably rubbing and poking at your eye and making the irritation worse, but still if it persists for another day I'd make an appointment or go to a walk in clinic or whatever.

I enjoyed it, despite the multiple annoying characters, if you aren't enjoying it now, give up, it doesn't improve in the later series.
