What’s the best role he’s acted in?

It's like he made a deal with the devil. He gets money, fame, general Hollywood success, and in exchange he forfeits any charisma whatsoever. He just feels soulless, like I would struggle to accept anything he says as a genuine feeling from him. Every word seems to be him selling something.

There’s a lot of things I’d describe the Rock with but lacking charisma is not one of those things.

He definitely attempts to put on a performance, and he goes all out with it, but there's always something under the surface that feels disingenuous. I'd struggle to completely believe him even in a candid conversation. At any moment he's going to try to sell me a can of ZOA Energy and tell me about his next movie.

As the rock he had charisma. As a big star he wants to be liked too much so he has no edge and just comes off as phony. He was great in pain and gain when he got to act crazy

he definitely has charisma, it would be impossible for any other actor to have this kind of fame with this level of acting if they didn't have charisma, but no amount of charisma can save you from your shit acting in the long run, you can fool some people in the beginning, but eventually everybody will see you for a fraud you are

You should feel that way about every actor.

Saw this when it came out. Not sure if it holds up, but definitely better than all the pandering bullshit he acts in nowadays.

If you think the Rock has genuine, natural charisma, you're bad at reading people. He has fake charisma. He can look cool in certain roles, sure, but watch any of his interviews and you'll see that his "likeability" is something carefully crafted by a million dollar marketing team, all of the time. The man is so fake, it's like he's got a rehearsed answer or a "story" ready to go for anything that he can be asked about. Also, can't make any kind of appearance without shilling something. 100% phony.

Examples of actors with real, natural charisma: Willem Dafoe, Bruce Campbell, Mel Gibson.

Almost as good as Vin Diesel's The Pacifier.
