Joker: "Do I look like a guy with a plan"
Lets see
>dressed up as a cop so he could get a shot at the mayor at his speech
>put explosives into 2 huge ships so that one would detonate the other
>robbed a bank and had a school bus crash into, then pull out with the money in formation with the other busses
>planted explosives in a hospital

I do think all 3 movies feel a little worse every time you see them. Like they were all really engaging and felt amazing the first time you saw them, but every time after that they start to feel thinner and thinner

This is how I feel about Fury Road. I mean its okay but everyone acting like its was blowing their minds feels like they went straight from watching Thunderdome to Fury Road and haven't seen a single piece of post apocalyptic fiction the entire time in-between.

Nolan's Batman movies are just American James Bond films for Americans who do not watch James Bond. No gothic atmosphere, no ancient cults, no mad scientists, no schizo-comic book archenemies, just colorful terrorists and end of the world plots

Scarecrow sucks in that movie, it's just the truth, they somehow kept the basics of the character but removed all the interesting bits about Crane that makes him really great, leaving him little more than wasted potential and a glorified henchman for Liam Neeson

Fury Road is propped up by having great effects and one of the best first acts in any action movie ever.
It's kind of like Avatar, where it's not really about the script.

Fury Road looked cheap to me in theaters, I checked out as soon as he sees the fortress for the first time because almost nothing about the world looked real. I was surprised to find out it was such a huge, meticulous production, but I stand by it because 90% of the shots involve some kind of compositing and a lot of is unconvincing.

Something about the endings to Begins and TDK feel unfinished. TDKR is just a complete mess of a movie.

Overall yeah in retrospect it seems overrated, with the core of TDK being saved entirely by Heath Ledger.

>a glorified henchman for Liam Neeson

And Liam Neeson didn't seem properly built up as a villain, he just shows back up in the movie to say "yeah I'm evil now and will destroy an entire city of civilians because there are some criminals."

He meant that he never had a grand ultimate master plan, he was never playing the long game, he was just fucking with the city here and there and then moving on to the next fuckery, as the Joker does.
Stop being such a nitpicker.

Nolan’s whole muh dark and gritty and realistic capeshit was a fluke. It only was a success because of Ledger and the wheels came off by Rises. WB foolishly tried to keep it going with Snyder and got steamrolled by the MCU. Least dark and gritty and most ridiculous Aquaman was the most successful DC movie

Pfft, please, Nolan's trilogy lives in the shadow of the Burton films. It's only the reason it exists.

I saw TDK sober in theatres. Then tried to watch it a second time at home while I was really really high, and it just totally broke all the immersion. Especially the scene where basically the cops let a guy in a bat costume beat up a clown.

Batman never been realist. He’s always been in a surreal environment where ridiculous villains and a grown man dressed up as a bat would fit. Seeing these movies and The Batman and how hard trying to make it look like S7even, and got this crime scene with cops and there is a dude in a bat suit standing there

Begins has always been highly appreciated. If it's less so now it's only because the sequel overshadowed it and the market became oversaturated with capeshit.

Anonymous No.213958300
They are good action/drama movies but TERRIBLE Batman movies... Batman isn't really Batman in these movies, actually none of them has gotten him right... He doesn't do real detective work, he doesn't outsmart anybody and he's overall a terrible superhero in them... The new one made a better attempt than all the previous movies but it was still pretty weak compared to the comics....
