2004 Punisher was fun. Its kind of disjointed and silly; but I prefer that for a super hero movie to them taking the concept seriously.

2004 was the best all around film. disney did their regular shtick of not actually showing the origin story and just starting off in the middle of a character arc, but seeing his family get killed was a great scene. if tom janes punisher and tobey mcguires spiderman teamed up it would have made so much money back in the day.

I haven't seen any of them so I can't comment on the actual quality of any, but just aesthetic impact is pitiful for the 2017 version. This is unironically an example of SOVL vs no soul.

Dolph was ironically the best actor. The movie was a little weird, but fun. He gave the best emotional performance of all the Punisher actors. That scene with LGJr when he won't look him in the eyes after they meet again is emotional Kino. He also had the best Punisher voice.
As for all the non-Puniher things in the movie, I liked some of them. Like the knifes. I also liked the sewer hideout, but I always like that in most movies. The bad girl henchwoman was cute. CUTE.
Oh, and him using gun/hanguns in hand to hand was pretty cool. Very Indy and very Punisher-like,

In the comics adaptation he draws it on his bulletproof vest with paint, but in the movie he just throw the vest away because it was given to him by the bad guy. I thought it made more sense in the movie.

Loose Change is the best. The 2004 shootout massacre on the beach was great motivation for Frank but I love the bats hit insane violence in 2008. Put them in a blender and freeze global.

Dolphs movie felt as though it was ashamed to be a comicbook movie, it feel very similar to other action films of the time.
Ray Stevenson looked and acted the most like Frank from the comics, but the script was awful.
Jon Bernthal is a very capable actor when given good material but the material he is given is often pretty weak and he looks the least like Frank. Punisher Season 2 was painful to watch.
