In Lost World Ian Malcolm says "the deaths of 3 people" people know Gennaro died, and Mr.Arnold. They never get confirmation on Nedry or Muldoon in the film. Ellie and Hammond probably assumed Muldoon died, and were correct. As for Nedry, they had no way of knowing if he made it to the doc and snuck on to the boat. And Hammond even says "it's obvious Nedry is not coming back", not assuming he is dead, but that his son made a choice to not a return. So, yea, in Lost world I'd say nedry is a missing person.

They do in the Telltale game. which is partially canon I guess because apparently the JW movies reference stuff from that game.
