When the third movie, produces a happy ending, that follows the together forever motto, its literally trading drama for fanservice.
You could span an arc over all three movies, so that the sisters are able to stay together in the end, by changing. I dont remember the third movie, im not even sure if have ever seen entirely. Maybe they did something like that.
But its a prequel. Its kinda stupid to build an character arc with a resolution in third movie, when its a sequel. The ace makes no sense chronologically.
