Is Gunn purposely putting the silliest stuff from the comics in the movie to see if he can get away with it?

hollywood is creatively bankrupt, simple as. There is no woke agenda, no "deliberately make it shit to see if he can get away with it". The slop they spend half a billion to make really is the best they could do.

How long would it be before that dog's cape falls off to the side and it just drags the thing along rather than wearing it on its back like human?

Is that where gunn gets his jokes? I thought the humor was really weak. Hated how Crypto was entirely CGI and how they kept reusing the same " bad dog " jokes over and over. It was annoying. Movie is a 5/10 imo. Weakest gunn movie.

i'm pretty sure 60s superman comics got a lot sillier than what's in the current movie.

Anyway, on the subject of the movie itself, it's just Gunn doing a Guardians of the Galaxy greatest hits again, and where Superman is essentiall guest star in his own fucking movie, and is a whiny jobber bitch the whole time.

I'm not going to complain about the Jor-El heel turn, because they could retcon that in a sequel as being Zod posing as Jor-El or something.

Why'd they pick such an ugly dog? From memory Crypto was generally depicted as looking like either a white Labrador or German Shepherd and occasionally like a Dalmatian without spots. Don't remember ever seeing a scruffy mutt looking Krypto like this.

I'd like to actually talk about the movie but every thread about it is a shit post.

I didn't like it.
It felt like the movie didn't take itself seriously at all. Not that the movie needed to be serious. It just needed to believe in itself. It felt like almost every scene was like written sarcastically or something. Like that serious scene of Superman talking to Lois while that space jellyfish thing is being fought in the background. That could have been serious but the framing made it seem like a joke was happening in the background deflating everything. Even the camera work made it seem like a comedy. I don't know what's up with all the insane wide-angle lenses he uses in this but it makes every close-up character shot look ridiculous by warping the characters' faces. Pic related
