Before Seinfeld shows were expected to have some underlying point. I guess. Although some episodes are more about nothing than others
The "nothing" refers to the absolute void of meaning or values as four conniving jews demolish the goodness of society around them (but in an irreverent zany way!)

i know youre baiting, but when you say
>i will make a sitcom episode, its about people going to a party, they buy a bottle of wine to bring it, someone double parks them, they arrive at the party and the episode ends
on paper thats about nothing.
Or
>the episode is about them going to a store to buy an air conditioner, because its cheap there. They buy an air conditioner, they struggle to find their car in the parking lot as one often does, but in the end they find it. The end.

Then you'd just have to disfavorably compare the two as Seinfeld did it first and better. Whatever shallow similarities you think you've discovered don't compare the wit and critical acclaim. Because Bang was lowest common denominator garbage while Sein is respected to this day as one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. Chuck Lorre formulaic comedies will NEVER be on the level of Seinfeld.

Considered by whom? A bunch of low IQ Seinfeldtards on this shithole of a board? Wow! that totally changes everything.
And just so you know, TBBT was the highest rated and most watched sitcom of the late 2000s/early 2010s. So your argument is invalid anyway.
The fact you consider this garbage tier show about a bunch of Jew Yorkers kvetching about trivial bullshit as le ebin masterpiece shows how much you lack critical thinking and rely on parroting talking points from others on this board.

This. If you really want to be redactive then the average Seinfeld episode is either
>Something mundane happens
>The protags overreact and make the situation much worse
Or
>Something extraordinary happens
>The protags act like its mundane
Itβs also obvious that the protagonists are bad people, and the joke is how selfish they are. The joke is either seeing them screw over innocent people, or receive just desserts. The closest today would be something like Family Guy and American Dad. They even had to send them to jail in the finale because people didnt get it
Itβs very different from Friends or Big Bang Theory

I feel like Jews lost alot of traction in the US after broadcast television and record label empires were phased out. If you were born after the invention of the internet and smartphones, you can't comprehend how monopolized the stuff on our TV screens were. It was normal to see whatever the Jews wanted you to see. Jerry Springer, Seinfeld, Woody Allen movies. They were having a golden age in America from WW2 to 2001 where antisemitism was at an all time low thanks to holocaust conditioning and positive media influence. So not only were jews producing things, goyim were actually paying to go see gangly ass dorks like Woody Allen in the theatre or on TV. Or in this case, neurotic jews complaining about things like Seinfeld.
Enter the smartphone with internet. Enter distributed media platforms. They don't have the same control over what we see and hear anymore, and we are just starting to see the effects of a diluted Jewish influence on the American physche now that we are in 2025. I'm sure Israel, zionists whatever you want to call them didn't anticipate losing the ear of Americans this rapidly. At any rate, nobody sees them as normal anymore, and once that happens you can't get it back. Notice how there's like 0 Jewish celebrities these days, now that people have a choice of what to watch and TV ratings don't mean fuckall.

Friends appeals to the masses more than Seinfeld? Not really quantifiable, but possibly true. Lowest common denominator folks somehow loved Seinfeld but they'd surely more easily digest the simpleton slop of Friends.
But the ratings were higher for Seinfeld when it aired. That's a fact. No show could touch it. It went out as the number one show on television. Friends did not.
Zoomers are even dumber than millennials and Seinfeld was really a boomer/GenX show, so maybe now more people do like Friends. But that'll never be true of the critics. And Seinfeld is still worth more money to streamers and syndicators. You really have nothing but your own wishes to base your opinion on. All facts point to Seinfeld at the top of all charts.

Its not that "nothing happens." Its that theres no point. In the 90s, the notion of characters going through a series of events, without any real lesson or catharsis, was deemed odd. Seinfeld is often just a sequence of events that happen to these people. They go upstate, meet a bubble boy, George accidentally pops his bubble, and Kramer burns down the cabin. Nothing was learned, nobody grew, and they carry on.

What are you talking about? It is higher art than the average sitcom. As was Curb. It had the rare distinction of being popular with the hip urban crowd and the flyover chucklefucks. Everyone loved Kramer. Everyone loved the show. You probably weren't even aware in the 90s if you were alive. It wasn't "made for pseuds to feel more intelligent". No show is made with that kind of motivation. It just worked for everyone. If it were too clever for its own good it wouldn't have been so popular. But there were different layers and levels of comedy. There were jokes not everyone appreciated. It played to everyone.
I know you guys just like to argue for the sake of it but you really can't. It was the top show AND critics loved it. It was a very strange thing. Like the Beatles or something. Larry and Jerry were kind of a Lennon/McCartney anyway in their comedy styles, with Larry's being more highbrow and inaccessible and Jerry's being more simplistic and populist.
But now I'm getting into areas you couldn't possibly understand or agree with. This really is not the website for me to find satisfying discussion on any topic let alone Seinfeld.

if we're talking popularity then friends is a more popular and well known show by people of all age groups, not only in the US but across the world as well.
>I know you guys just like to argue for the sake of it but you really can't. It was the top show AND critics loved it.
No. I think you're missing the point I'm trying to make. No one is denying that Seinfeld wasn't a popular show, but fans of it pretend it's some intelligent show when in reality it's mediocre at best. Friends and TBBT are popular and well received yet we don't hear fans of those shows pretending as if it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Whatever, dude. I don't know who's "pretending it's intelligent" and that "they're intellectually superior for liking it".
It's not mediocre. It won writing Emmys. I guess by YOUR calculations it's mid. And again you compare it to Friends. I already informed you that Friends was not as popular in the ratings nor is it currently worth the money Seinfeld is to streamers and syndicators, which definitely suggests that it's more widespread. You have jack shit to back up your age groups and across the world nonsense.
All I can tell you is that I was there for it when it was the biggest show on TV for the last half of its run, about 5 years of domination. And I've read all about it over the decades. It's just more highly regarded than Friends and especially Big Bang. Big Bang is dumb like Two and a Half Men. It just has nerd references. It's not actually smart comedy. Seinfeld was clever and witty in many ways. You can't win this argument. You're simply wrong.
It's up there with I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners and All in the Family as one of the best shows of all time. I didn't decide that. I'm just the messenger. There was a SeinMania thing for a while which Friends never achieved.
There's simply no comparison and I don't understand why you're rejecting the facts.

George: What?
Jerry: We're going on a two day trip. What are you, Diana Ross?
George: I happen to dress based on mood.
Jerry: Oh. But you essentially wear the same thing all the time.
George: Seemingly. Seemingly. But within that basic framework, there are many subtle variations only discernible to an acute observer, that reflect the many moods, the many shades, the many sides of George Costanza.
Jerry: And what mood is this.
George: This is Morning Mist.

No, Larry and Jerry got a billion dollars from Netflix alone. No one's discussing the actors' salaries at the time. The show is CURRENTLY worth more than Friends.
You just made up all the stuff about these exaggerating Seinfeld fans. Stop trying to lower it to the levels of Lorre CBS garbage.
SeinMania is just a term I made up, yes. But do you see the Mad Magazine stuff? Did you know the actual, real life Kramer, Kenny Kramer did a "reality tour" using a bus? That was when the show was still on and they made an episode about it. There were bumper stickers and multiple books, some of which I own still. This was IN the 90s. You weren't there so you don't know. But you're welcome to go to ebay or Amazon and look at all of the Seinfeld shit they made. I have a DVD board game in my basement right now, Seinfeld Edition. There's probably a Monopoly game too. Friends had none of that.
