It’s not his fault, saar. The studios! His unmade sequels to Army of the Dead, Justice league, and Rebel Moon would have been good. Or at least the extended versions released later would have been bloody bastards

Aside from all the stuff it’s ripped off from? Which version do we have to watch? I went to the premier of the second one. They gave away free tickets to try and fill up the small cinema

Dawn of the Dead was genuinely a good time at the cinema. Loved the communication between the roofs, because I always imagined i'd go straight to the roof in a zombie apocalypse

All of them but Army of the Dead. Even Owls of Gahoole was great, definitely akin to more adult oriented themes in Watership Down and The Seceret of Nimh.

He turned watchmen into a grim cgi goreslop movie, with the worse siow mo scenes of all his career and don't even get me started on the awful soundtrack.

If the squid wasn't cut out, inmediate kino.

It's hard to explain why Watchmen is so bad to people because they see the visuals and think it's comic book accurate. When I say that film is awful because it is meaningless and misses the point, I'm not even going to mention the squid. I'd just advise watching the scene where Rorschach tracks the kidnapped girl to the house and then reading how it happened in the comic.

Zack Snyder is to Christopher Nolan like Roland Emmerich is to Steven Spielberg. Roland Emmerich makes schlocky blockbusters and can't get the tone right like a schmaltzy Spielberg blockbuster. Snyder thinks he's making interesting blockbusters but isn't. Man of Steel was a pastiche of Nolan Batman, Nolan was even the producer, Goyer wrote it, Zimmer came back to do the music. The Dark Knight explained it's philosophy in a way that made normal people feel clever and that's Nolans strength, he makes normal people feel clever. Man of Steel was messy and muddled but people still act like it had something to say because they want to differentiate themselves from the MCU fans but Snyder is simply not good at making an interesting point, he just makes unsubtle allegories. Into this space came a lot of pseudo intellectuals for various reasons wanting to feel clever. Other Snyder movies have a similar problem. Snyder believes something like Sucker Punch is like Inception, with the dream layers and stuff, but it isn't as interesting as Inception, it comes across as a masturbatory anime fantasy, and I'll be honest: that's okay! If Snyder dropped his pretenses and just rolled with it people would respect him more. When I watch movies like Army of the Dead or Rebel Moon, I can't help but feel like these movies would make better anime. But then Snyder did animated stuff and it wasn't very good either.

I love Watchmen. I couldn't give a fuck less about the comic book. The movie is fantastic though. Read all the arguments why people think the comic book is better and it's just the same whiny baby shit as always: people angry that something isn't le 110% exactly the same the source and whatever they made up in their heads.

True. What gets me is when they eventually get their way (and they always do because they tend to have mainstream critics on their side) it always ends up less popular and immediately forgotten. There's a long list at this point. You'd think that would cause some introspection but no it's straight on to the next thing to ruin.

Snyder uses slo-mo to literally copy the comic book sources. I like Watchmen, but you're saying you like something that copies the source to a ridiculous degree, but get mad about people calling out things like the stupid changes to the attack? That's dumb.

Imagine a world without Zack Snyder fans. My God, it would be heaven on earth. Literally paradise. India would cease to exist. /tv/ would reclaim its former throne as the best board on 4chan. Spelling and grammar in posts would improve by 1000% overnight. No more /v/ermin spouting their uneducated bullshit.

Brutally murdering all Zack Snyder fans would just solve so many problems. We should give serious thought to permabanning Snyderfags from /tv/. I would definitely be up for it.

The comic isn't better because the movie changed a lot. Most of the scenes they filed were incredibly faithful. The problem is the comic wasn't written for a 3 hour adaptation in mind so they just had to leave a lot of shit out for the sake of time. It's a cliff's notes version of the book. Which is all it ever could be unless it was going to be a miniseries and it was edited down about as well as it could be, but still.

I wind it weird that people like the movie but don't give a fuck about the book when the book is the actual complete, unedited version. You'd think if the truncated version of the story appealed to you you would be somewhat interested in the complete version. Everything good about the movie is straight from the book, the book just has more of it.

To truly understand Zack Snyder, you need to have a film autist like Pat Willems break everything down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpzK2CMTuAo

Basically, Excalibur 1981 is the reason Zack makes films the way he does.
