I have an old laptop with 1 GB of RAM that runs Windows XP. It still works. Win 7 doesn't even want to install on it because the installer wants more RAM. (I know that there are workarounds, I just don't bother).
This XP machine can still connect to the internet and browse it. By now, in 2020s, you need some enthusiast-developed forks of browsers instead of vanilla Firefox or Chrome, because the final XP versions of these two can't handle some modern websites well, but things work.
No viruses on that machine yet, despite all this.
(obviously I don't use that laptop in daily life, that would be retarded. but I am into older music that was often released on CDs and never made it to online releases, so I need to buy and rip CDs every now and then, and this laptop has an incredibly omnivorous CD drive that easily reads even the most abused CDs without issues - truly a miracle drive)
