Because Americans are like children. They adhere to black and white view of things. Capeshit is just another flavour of that with absolute good and absolute evil, oh and the characters usually don't have redemption or ascension or anything like that. They usually get their powers from goofy manifest destiny situations. For example, Captain America dopes but this dope can't be replicated because reasons. Superman is an alien but looks exactly like human beings lol. Batman and Ironman are ultra rich who are also martial artists who are also Strategists who are also knowledgeable about every field.
