To expand on this it's really weird trying to figure out how to articulate just how much we absorbed of characters like Elvira from all the different appearances they did on television and news events.
like Kermit the Frog, just constantly appearing on different daytime talk shows, or Alan Thicke hosting holiday specials from a couch, so when you think of Elvira or Kermit or whoever you don't think of any specific movie or show so much as them just being people in your life. as crummy as Hollywood could be, that sort of extended family/community culture that existed around it up to around the late 90s really was kind of nice in its own way
